After fixing it in 2015, in 2017 the app now goes back to the top of the page after every article read on my tablet. That's just awful, having to find where you'd read to. I virtually never use the herald app because it is and always has had a terrible user interface.
Been using for years and think very good app. Unfortunately after phone upgraded to Android 7 (nougat), it only ever gets about six articles and sits with spinning circle. Others reviewing with same issue. Hopefully they can address.
I am sick of the return to top automatically. And the 6 stories only before a view more button, only to be shot back to the top when a new story update happens. And what is with Australian stories creeping into the National news section. Last I checked they were another country, I. International or world news. And finally the notifications of All or Rugby. Hmm now there's a choice huh. How about notifications for each topic section. Not all of us live for instant rugby news.
Need to watch a 15 second ad to get to a 19 second vidoe. Awesome work guys. Just what the consumer wants. Also gling through the articles it just stops at 6 articles and can't go any further even when the app tells you to swipe to read more articles
Really frustrating, since the "upgrade", articles are repeated multiple times on the home screen, and also if you swipe through them when reading. Returning to the home screen takes you to the top of the page rather than where you left it. Barely any synopsis of the articles on the home screen.
Since the update to the herald website all but made it unusable I am forced to try the app again. So far it's faster and easier to navigate but so is auckland traffic.
