Oats build this practice by having you check in with your breath before engaging with your notifications. The hope is eventually you will not need to use the app as much once you learn the practice and then you can only use it when you feel like you need a refresher.
Oat wants to make it easier to engage not only with your notifications but your phone in general. Technology is a tool that helps us connect with others, but sometimes can become a bit overwhelming.
Oat acts as an interstitial between you and your notifications. It makes it so you can easily see Oat is running in "Mindful mode". This means it will take your notifications and put them in the Oat app which will be accessible after a breathing exercise.
"Mindful mode" is easy to turn off and on. It is essentially a switch that you can turn on, and your phone will be more mindful. Need to get a notification right as it arrives, turn Oat off, and turn it back on when you are ready to train again.
