Review from AC Whithorn
Ever since RBdigital replaced One Click Digital it will only download the four chapters which is an improvement from my first download which would only download the first chapter. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it as recommended and now it downloads the first 4 chapters. Very very very frustrated!
October 16, 2017Hey AC - Thanks for the feedback - if you get a moment please try the updated version we released this morning. If you are still unable to download past the first chapter, please let me know. Thanks
Had to update as previous version stopped working. However the ability to switch to text mode appeared to be absent in the update. Had to zoom and pan to read the magazine articles. Emailed for help and Brett from Howe very helpful. Advised to remove app, reboot my Hudl2 and install it again. Works fine now. Can read all mags for free via my local library eg Economist, New Scientist, Astronomy, Classic Cars, Yachting Monthly....
The only issue I have is the limited author selections. Other than that, it's great and best of all...FREE! UPDATE: It's been upgraded automatically and now I can't get my audiobook to play!! Grrr!! *Revised: This ap sucks. It won't play my books for more than a few minutes at a time. Then it either stops or shuts down. 😒
I use this mostly with my library account, and it's slow, crashes, fails to download about half the magazines I've checked out, and (usually) won't open offline. Pales in comparison to Zinio. Update: three months later - more magazines are working, still fails miserably to work offline. Usability still pales in comparison to Zinio. Get the thing to work offline and I'll be happy.
Unlike OverDrive, I don't have to wait, any title I've chosen, so far, has been available. Need to find where you can recommend titles. There seems to be some play back issues/bugs. The back button goes to home page not to last page visited. Update: I've taken several months break because there have been too many bugs that it was just annoying to use this app. Came back and won't move from "loading data" loop. What's that about?
The library made me download this app and it doesn't seem any better or worse than the previous app. I enjoy reading magazines etc and paying for the privilege via taxes rather than buying items individually. Socialism is alright like that.
App was working fine then, like always, there's an update which stops it from working as it was. I check out a magazine, then when I go to read it it says the data for that magazine is unavailable, please try again later. If the latest magazine isn't available to read, don't display it. For an app that was working fine, you really know how to collect one stars.
Various enhancements and bug fixes.
Listen to app reading aloud web pages, PDF, DOC, TXT, EPUB and FB2 files, more.
