The app locked double take feature asking me to message ppl I liked already! Really? I liked some overseas ppl but it doesn't mean I want to message someone living thousands of miles away. Ridiculous and unnecessary move tbh.
This is about the app and not the experience of the service. Compared to other apps, OKC is highly interactive and you feel like there's a lot more to do than just swipe. You can answer questions, read other people's responses, view multiple steams of people (curated and browsable). On the down side though, it handles text entry pretty poorly, especially if you need to change a word and want to get back to the end of the message. In long message threads it also starts to fall over and has difficulty refreshing to show the latest messages. It also can fail to load on start up sometimes, but overall these are pretty minor and edge case.
I got this app to help me find a date or two. I find that now that I'm using this, I'm not dating any more frequently than before. I feel the emails about people who like me taunting since I would have to pay to find out more. I feel the messaging system combined with the match system unintuitive and strange. The app does look nice and run smoothly though. EDIT: OkCupid' s response states that matches "will appear more frequently in double-take" however I just swiped right on 40 people in a row, apparently none of those were any of the 25 people "A-list" would have me believe like me. Bottom line, the match system is awful.
Total waste of time. 90% It says no matches found or how embarrassing we can find any one to put here. Contacted customer support to see what the issue was being that I was a paying member 2 weeks no reply. Looks else where for dating app this is not useful nor effective.
This app requires a Facebook account to sign up. Considering the fact that one of Facebook's founders will not allow his own children to use it, that's enough for me. I will never have a Facebook account. Adios OkCupid.
As much as I'd like to give this app a further shot, the A-list is pretty much a hard knock. If there was maybe a one day A-list trial to see if we not being liked only by bots, that would help us decide if A-list is actually essential.
