Edit: Dev response saying that they updated the app (guess i missed new version, downloading now) to remove the offending ads. Been using for a long time, love its ease of use and ability to handle many formats for viewing items on reddit. Recently started playing adds with volume even with phone screen off even several minutes after setting my phone aside. Needs to be addressed then will change review back to 5 stars. Adds were always a thing but easily identifiable and not extremely intrusive. Having it start playing saxophone music while I'm falling asleep several minutes after setting my phone on the nightstand may prevent me from having bacon reader as my go to for Reddit.
Very slow app, had lots of performance issues after installing, does not play well with other apps. Interface is confusing and inconsistent (someone you tap to do something, sometimes you do long press for same thing), never figured out how to sort my history by likes. Hides nested parts of threads automatically and inconsistently... Caused much embarrassment and confusion when I thought I was replying to one post but was actually replying to a hidden one. After giving it a chance for a few months, having it delete a long post because it lagged out and treated a swipe as dragging the nearly completed post off the screen. Going back to using a web browser, that was superior in hindsight.
Reinstalled by suggestion of of the developers only to uninstall it again. Now there are ads that actively cover content and are not only needlessly difficult to close (trying to close an ad will instead click it and open the ad 90% of the time), but literally impossible to report. I get that you're offering a free service with ads as a means of monetizing it, but the practices employed are intrusive and obnoxious.
The app has great functionality. My biggest complaint is the amount of advertisement. Of course a free app needs ads, but the frequency is INSANE. I delete one and the next one immediately pops up. It's exhausting!
Advert pops up that doesn't even load and takes up the whole screen. Reloads once i have closed it as well. Im then forced to reload the app. Not cool guys!
This app is so good, neat, smooth no lag and the UI rocks. But if only it can implement streamable in it so i can watch video without external browser that would be very great for us.
