This is a well designed traditional roguelike. I actually like it more than Pixel Dungeon, even though Pixel Dungeon is a lot more popular. I could never get into Pixel Dungeon (it always bored me for some reason). This game just feels right though, for some reason. It's the little things that make the difference. This game has made lots of good subtle choices that add up to make it feel better.
Not bad! The single-tile movement, however, is stunted on a touch screen. Feel like my finger is always in the way. Smart pathing might be better served, like the movement in Pathos. Maybe a d-pad on the screen? Wouldn't hurt the bump-to-attack/interact mechanic and lets the player see the field.
Pretty fun game on the lines of "nethack", ( except in "NETHACK", you have more character classes to chise from, plus "secret rooms") my only beef is that you'll get better weapons than you will armor or at least, get weapons more quickly than armor regardless who you decide to be. Not sure on "Rogue's" sneak ability where, once you get an invisibility potion, ANY character you choose basically can sneak around for a bit, so it's not necessarily a character trait even though "Rogue" says it's inheritant of his character. Also, I thought that as a character, "rogue" is supposed to be automatically better at picking locks? He doesn't seem to be- I played as that, got it up to level 10 & still blrw through a lock pick after maybe 5 tries of picking. I got the same results from being a knight except once where, after getting my guy up to level 8, I managed to get through a locked gold door in only 1 try, so, it seems the "inherant nature" or "abilities" your choice of character is, is really a mute point. Only other beef I have with this is I found a shop but it only lets you buy stuff, not sell off extra stuff you may not want. Other than this, it's sort if a cool time waster.
Wish there was a gear merchant to sell/trade gear specific to each class. Then I won't feel so weird dumping the extra equipment I pick up. Unless that's in the pay version, then I guess it's on me. Good game otherwise. J
A good intro to roguelikes or for those not looking for too much of a challenge. Also, despite what the Play Store says, there doesn't appear to be any in-app purchases.
Good game, nice time killer
- fix particle bug when poisoned
- tweaked creature damage values
