About this app

A pain log for people with life-changing persistent pain and those who love them.

Designed by a developmental psychologist and mother of a teen living with severe chronic pain, 1step2life brings together cutting edge developmental and rehabilitation science. Unlike other pain logs, 1step2life focuses on mood and functioning as well as pain.

It is designed in two modes: for people experiencing severe chronic pain and for caregivers - particularly parents - who want to act as effective supports and coaches.

It allows those in pain to set, log and celebrate hitting short term goals - taking a shower, walking around the block, making it to work or school. All the things that others take for granted. It's those small steps and hitting those short term goals are what makes it possible to take back your life. In addition, research shows that for most people, becoming more active and functional and re-engaging in social life and friendships improves pain over the long haul.

1step2life provides you with tools to help you get there.

In caregiver mode, parents and others log positive steps to build and maintain relationships, steps to maintain their own well-being, and can record and log their child or partners' pain and functioning.

-Patient & Caregiver modes.
-The caregiver log supports effective coaching by helping you see the whole person, not just pain.
- Set and evaluate individualize weekly goals.
- Log daily moods - positive and negative.
- Record self-care, caring for others, daily activities, stress reduction, and exercise.
- Set 1step2life to log pain daily, every few days, weekly, or never. You’re in control.
-Visualize the relationship between mood, pain, and functioning and download your data.
-Default dark mode for light sensitive eyes.
-We respect your privacy. The accounts of family members, caregivers, and those living with pain are completely separate. We know that for you to take control of your life you need to be honest with yourself. Privacy is essential to that process.
