Good app, but I think you should provide first for my logging in as a member, and then offer my favorite restaurants for reserving, simultaneously making it easy (with links) to reserve elsewhere or to browse other possible choices. Of course, for non-members, offer those links right off the bat.
Although not all restaurants I am interested in are available here, the OpenTable service itself is great; and the app is amazing and very easy to use. I am also very impressed that OpenTable notified me of a data breach from one of their partners BEFORE any of my credit monitoring services did, AND they automatically locked my account requiring I set a new password. That kind of customer service is beyond amazing, especially these days.
Bad user experience. There is an option in the app (and on their website) to modify a reservation, as well as online help (and in the app) to tell you how to do it. However, once you go through the whole process of making the modification you get an error message saying servers cannot be reached. Upon contacting Open Table I was told reservations can no longer be modified and must be cancelled and re-booked. I'm fine with that, but then don't have buttons and information on your website and in your mobile app to the contrary. They made a quick change to turn off the feature without removing the feature, which wasted about an hour of my time. Very poor user experience.
I've had trouble with the restaurants not checking online reservations and even bumped because of a phoned reservation. The app itself is a great idea.
Great app, very useful. On one occasion the location data wasn't specific enough and had to walk around for a bit to find the restaurant but that's probably more the restaurant's fault.
I have tried 5 times just now to reserve a table. While already logged in the app takes my reservation info but when I submit it says this user has an account already to plz login. ISM LOGGED IN. But the even more annoying part is that unlike most modern well programmed apps, this one does not save the reservation info already typed in when I try to login again... it erases and starts me over!! So I resort to using my laptop and the web version now shows no time slot available for the restaraunt I was trying to book 4 times on the mobile app. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. #garbage
