I use this app in school and it's great! But, I have some concerns... 1) The app was made for iOS, not Android. 2) I have to use my mobile data to access new, unread emails. If you want to become popular and famous for this app, try making it similar to Schoology or Skedula. These are great examples of ways to give assignments, talk to others in your school community, or just to email each other. And both are FREE! Unless you count the money spent to use the Internet. That's a different subject lol. 😅
Sending mail fail I cannot send email using this app! Twice now, I have typed out detailed responses to parents only to hit send and get some sort of error message and find my email is completely gone! I will give two stars though, for the fact that I can read emails just fine, which is very convenient.
Needs Notifications The only benefit of this app is being able to see your emails, other than that it is quite terrible. It NEEDS a feature that automatically retrieves messages like Gmail and then notifies you with a notification, as of now it does not have this. My school uses FirstClass and continuously encourages us to use it, which we would if the mobile experience was better and automatically notified us with out emails instead of having to always check them manually, once this feature is included, I will be pleased.
Android 6.0 Works fine on Apple phones with iOS. Type in the same login and server on Android phone and it doesn't work at all with inability to get past loading screen. Stop being lazy and stop using the same programming code from iOS for Android! It's obvious this app is for iOS and you just copied and pasted the app code thinking iOS and Android are the same. Lazy, lazy programmers.
Super buggy for android. Typing away and then suddenly entire message disappears. Happens almost every time. Contacts not always available. Can't delete a word or lose ability to continue writing message. Have contacted customer service. No resolution, but very courteous. Thankful that my school system is switching to another email account provider this year.
Why do schools use this junk? The most terribly designed app I have ever seen. One major flaw (but not the only)- if you receive an email that has a bunch of recipients, you will not be able to see the message. I would strongly urge anyone that goes to a school using firstclass to lobby for a change asap. Besides, Google has an incredible alternative to this that is far more feature rich and user friendly.
