Updated Review I *finally* found the district Android client server information (after receiving "I/O Operations error (8)" like other recent reviews) and it works perfectly! Very pleased I finally got it working. Will update on functionality after I get a chance to play! :-) *update* Keeping 4 starts because there are aspects I cannot access due to the mobile interface and also do not like the near-constant notifications abut random users status updates.
Excellent app...with just a few suggestions. I love being able to check my first class email and conferences with my phone. While the app has improved tremendously there are still a few things that could be improved. For example, access to contacts/address book, access to every folder one has on their desktop within the client, and a little bit more user-friendly interface would be a great improvement. Also, the ability to move individual emails into sub folders would be useful.
FirstClass Failure 1. Requires special setup by your IT department. You cannot just install and go. 2. No Calendar features. 3. No updates. Its full of bugs and they don't care. If FirstClass cared, they would fix it. 4. If you've seen the iOS app, prepare for disappointment. This app. is terrible and even acknowledging the difficulties in creating an app. that works on every Android platform, it is clear they just half-assed this. With companies looking at outsourcing their email, FirstClass better watch their butt
Worst app ever I am unfortunately forced to use this mobile application as my job uses the FirstClass client. The desktop application is bad enough but this mobile app is trash. Maybe the iOS version is better but this is the worst. When creating an email reply, there is an error that the object is missing. Never refreshes. Locks messages. This application has made me want to break my phone. For someone who travels a lot and must send emails on the go, you are better off forwarding your mail to another mail client. UGH!
Why do schools use this junk? The most terribly designed app I have ever seen. One major flaw (but not the only)- if you receive an email that has a bunch of recipients, you will not be able to see the message. I would strongly urge anyone that goes to a school using firstclass to lobby for a change asap. Besides, Google has an incredible alternative to this that is far more feature rich and user friendly.
Finally got my email, but no calendar. Update: Now it connected quite easily and I can receive/send email. However, there is no access to calendar. Please update. Last year:Cannot connect. I get an error msg: Syntax error while parsing server response (10). Worked first time on iPad, so I know I entered correct info. Looks like they need to try again with the android app.
