Latest UI update make speed dial options harder to access. The previous UI was better. Clearing history upon exit should be made an automatic option instead of prompting every time the Exit option is selected. Also, please add an option in the overflow menu to request the desktop website. Then Opera will be the only web brower I used for all my computing needs.
Still really laggy and locks up a lot after the last few updates. Older versions of Opera would never crash like this. Many sites display messed up and links often open to mobile pages even when set to desktop. The older version was much better. Maybe I can find an older version and just never update. Or maybe a new browser. Sad really.
Year after year, since before I ever had a smartphone, Opera remained the absolute best mobile browser for me and no other browser had been able to convince me to switch. [2017 update:] After the new owners of the Opera company started making bad decisions and degrading the desktop Opera browser, the pushy marketing BS and other nonsensical changes have finally come to mobile Opera as well. Guess I have to start looking for a replacement again. Just hope Vivaldi decide to make a mobile version of their own soon.
Great! I used the desktop version over Firefox due to its stability. Now, I enjoy using the mobile version, too! The only gripe I have is the new mobile UI is not as efficient as the old one. Also, add an option to retrieve the desktop version of web sites from mobile device, then Opera will be a five-star web browser.
Only problems are that going home to speedial keeps that tab open and opening a new tab keeps speedial open (tabs fore/background doesn't help). STILL no way to clear cache separate from cookies - it was separate a long time ago. I have gigs of useless cache taking up so much space and I want to keep cookies to stay logged into sites. I really hate opera pushing sites to me (in icons) when I touch the address bar and they can't be deleted: MTV, 9gag, etc. I never use those sites.
Very good. Would like to be able to see security certificates for websites and a clearer secure page lock icon. EDIT: The latest update includes swipe up to browse feature. I do not want or need this feature; but I cannot find a way to disable it. I keep accidentally activating this feature whilst using a different browser, it's driving me mad. HOW DO I DISABLE IT? Latest update: has an annoying and distracting toolbar at the bottom of webpage; yes I have ticked to hide it, but it comes back with a tiny swipe down to get in my eye line again... annoying, annoying, annoying.
