Get the best mobile browser for Android. Opera is a fast browser that blocks ads and helps keep you safe on the web.
Top features
● Block ads: Don't let mobile ads slow you down when you surf the web. Opera now has a built-in ad blocker to help you load pages faster and use your screen space for the content you're interested in.
● Compress videos: Watch more videos on your mobile device, while using less data. Turn on video compression in the data-savings settings to prevent videos from stalling.
● Add to home screen: Add any website directly to your device's home screen to access your favorite sites even faster. Pro tip: using web shortcuts instead of standalone apps can help your device save memory.
● Read comfortably on any screen: With Opera, you can force zoom on any page, making it easier to read. We even make sure the text fits nicely on your screen with automatic text wrap.
Other highlights
● Save data: Our data-savings mode, powered by Opera’s compression servers, helps you browse faster, even on slow or congested networks. Download more content and watch more video with less stalling – all while staying within your plan’s limits.
● Browse privately: Use private tabs to go incognito anywhere on the internet without leaving a trace on your device.
● Stay up to date: The Discover feature brings you the latest news, tech, sports and other content from world-leading magazines and newspapers, right in the browser.
● Manage your tabs: The tab switcher uses less memory and makes it easier to switch between your tabs while you browse.
Handy tips
● Pull-to-refresh: Swipe down on any page to reload it.
● Search instantly, anywhere: Opera makes searching even simpler. Depending on your device, swipe up from the bottom edge in any app or long-press the home button to search the web with Opera. It’s a faster way to search the web.
● Organize your web: Speed Dial keeps the sites you love close at hand. Add your favorite pages to your Speed Dial or bookmarks simply by tapping the + symbol while you browse and pick your favorite.

Issue resolved & Better Dear Opera, thanks for resolution of the crashing issue. With new update it is better. Opera has been always my best buddy app in any devices. But some features of Opera Mini are very good and should have been included in this version also, like switch button display popup option for new page. Open popup option display just after downloading a file. Give it a try and I m sure it will be more better than ever....

Suggestion! Needless to say, the browser is great. I would suggest that you also make the 'share' menu bigger and more convenient, as in Wikipedia app. It truly would make the browser faster to use and more convenient. I don't know how typical my usage is, but I often share to Pocket. In the current condition, I have to always scroll more than two screens of share menu down. We are comparing here 9 items per page with 20 items (in Wikipedia, when expanded). Think about it. Keep up with good work and thank you :)

Firefox still rulez having more features able to understand more applets in dynamic interactive pages. Opera is still Not able to play flash in 4.2 where Firefox can... Opera does not run java based upload files button etc [Browse] in interactive forms websites while Firefox does it simply! However in Opera is the Best to Save web for offline also smarter bookmarks/Dial-In handling but still missing other basic things like above

Two Words: Text Reflow Opera is the only major mobile browser that features (very well implemented) text reflow. This is a must for me, personally and I don't understand why Google dropped it from the Chromium WebKit. Either way I'm grateful Opera has still managed to implement it so well on top of WebKit and hope they continue to do so going forward.

Perfect, almost... I really love this browser, especially because it wraps the text on websites when you zoom in, although the website has to have the kind of text that will wrap. That is both my greatest compliment to Opera and my biggest complaint. As a person with low vision, I would love to be able to enlarge the screen and always have text wrap. It's my only real complain, and why I only gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I love Opera.

Better but needs more options. I used to love opera. Then they changed to the new one, so I loved mobile classic. Then that disappeared. Three years and two phones later I'm loving this version. I have one request, however. Can we please have the option to turn off speed dial and discover?? It's using data which I could do without.

Hey Laurentiu, thank you so much for the detailed feedback. I will make sure to pass on to the devs. Considering the flash issue. Most websites now support HTLM 5 which is also why we switched. EDIT: will make sure to pass this on:) /Rosi Two Words: Text Reflow Opera is the only major mobile browser that features (very well implemented) text reflow. Still best browser for text wrap & zoom Sometimes you have to go back to settings and re-select "force enable zoom", also sometimes it is necessary to reselect "text wrap", etc. However 99% of the time it allows for extremely simple text zoom & wrap... Occasionally Opera will crash, but with recent updates, less so. Overall still the best mobile browser.
I use Opera browser on my tablet, laptop's & the Opera Max on my phone. I also have Yahoo, Chrome, & plain old internet but after using Opera I'm now so satisfied with it, it is now my "go to" browser. Everything it advertises is true. It's fast, responsive, easy to use, etc... I highly recommend it for all Android & PC devices. Can't say about Mac's yet but I plan on using Mac equipment for my music in the very near future. I'm confident Opera will be my browser of choice again. Thank You for making Opera so much better than it was in the early stages. (Opera has been around since the 90's or am I wrong?!)
Great potential I want to like opera, but this is a bit lacking. No quick toggle desktop or night view (white text, dark background)? How about quick toggle text warp and/or text size setting. A tab list view for faster tab navigation without scrolling. A scroll bar for easy longscrolling on websites. Maybe tap to scroll too. Opera pls, make it happen?
Discover's language changes to Hindi every time I open opera Ok I understand that the ad blocker is in its initial stages and it needs some time to run smoothly and effectively, but now what's wrong with the Discover Feed option of Opera? It's kinda annoying when I have to change the language to English every time. I really liked this feature of Opera cause I was able to quickly take a glance of what's new and what's rolling out in the near future, but now it's a small mess. Kindly fix this issue. Thanks.

Hi Papai, nothing wrong with a bit harsh reality. We're doing our best of course but we've seen some bumps in the road. We're still trying to block as many ads as possible. Thank you for your review. :) /Isabella Good but could be great Fast browsing and fairly reliable. The only thing I don't like is that everytime before exiting the application, I have to manually delete saved passwords. Cookies, and browsing history. I would like to see it just have a one-time setting like some of the other browser applications
Fast and Plays well with many work sites Using opera for work. It's is fast and seems to handle all of the different sites that I needed to use multiple browsers for in the past. Right click copy is taking some time to get used to as the placement is different from Firefox. But I just created an opera account and I am liking that synchronization feature.
Can't change the preferred language My browser keeps on getting back to hindi even after setting it to English. For this I am downgrading it to 2 Stars from 5. Personally I find the Discover section a waste of resource and data. Latest update on 1 August 2016. No change. I still get my notifications in Hindi. If this goes on then I will have to stop using this app. Now it is 1 star
Opera August 2, 2016
EDIT: Hey Lalrosanga, are you getting your notifications in Hindi or is it the Discover section switching to Hindi? Or both? Sorry to hear you're experiencing this. We are working hard to fix this. /J. Best browser for Android Opera invented tabbed breeding way back in the 90's. People weren't so sure about it then, but I loved Opera's speed and stability. Today, Opera is still the most stable browser for Android and the fastest, and it uses less if your data too. But besides so if these reasons, any of which are enough to make the switch, Opera can repaginated almost any page. Just punch and zoom. Yes, the typeface gets larger it smaller, just as it does in any browser, but Opera actually repaginates for your screen.
Was the best browser. Rip. I have been using this browser for dog many years since it was available only for pc's. When they launched a smart phone version, I again installed it. This WAS the best browser. Alas, it's no more. I just hope it has nothing to do with its new Chinese ownership. In the discover tab, I select English language but when I reopen the browser, it shoes ne a different language! Seems it has a mind of its own and wants us to read what it feels we should instead of allowing us to read what we want to. Sick.
Opera June 27, 2016
Hey, we are currently looking into this issues with the language. Still it would be great if you could send us bug report. The browser is still developed by us and the deal still hasn't gone through. /Rosi Utterly hopeless on Facebook You can't type, keeps refreshing weirdly. I loved the browser on PC in bygone times. Still has nice features, but needs testing on popular places. If you can get this to run in any sensible manner on Facebook, let me know how!
Opera July 4, 2016
Hi Jerry, sorry to hear that. How long have you been having this issue? And have you tried sending us a bug report? /Rosi About to give up on this browser again Rosi, how do I contact you to explain the issues I am having? As noted earlier, I love the way this browser is organized. But it's become increasingly difficult to use since I downloaded it a few months ago. About 30% of the time it simply won't load a page and I am forced to go to chrome. I want to use this browser, but it simply doesn't work very well
Opera July 4, 2016
Hey David. We appreciate you giving us this feedback. We will look into it. EDIT: Sorry to hear that :( Have you seen a pattern of websites where the browser seems to crash most often? It would be great if you could share this information with us. /Rosi Brilliant browser that gets out the way I switched to opera after chrome and firefox decided to remove the 'view image' option when long pressing an image, and I'm loving it. Unlike chrome and firefox, opera doesn't try to force you to browse in a specific way, it just gets out the way and lets you do what you want to do. It's also a lot more responsive than chrome or firefox and the tabs view is much easier to use. The only addition I would like is the ability to switch tabs left and right by swiping from the side.
Nice Still miss the old ui from opera classic but i guess even this one works somehow. Anyways there aren't any bugs/glitches and the browser performs at its best so i cant complain. No crashes either. An opera unique ad blocker would be nice to have. 5 stars worth/ ad blocker added yay <3 10 stars for this.
Opera June 14, 2016
Thank you so much Neuro! The new UI needs some getting used to but we're so happy that you like the features! Happy browsing! /Isabella Changes needed First thing what I liked is it lets you download FB videos. What I would like to be added is full screen options and theme as in opera mini. Also include clear browsing history, cache etc options like in chrome. If these are added this will be better than chrome.

Hi Ashish, please make sure to be using the latest version of Opera for Android. You can tap on the O menu / Settings / App layout / Phone to get a full screen mode when scrolling. To clear your browsing data, go to the O menu / Settings / Clear browsing data. Hope this helped. - J. Abnoying noticications Pops up Android notifications that I never asked for and that can't be disabled in settings. You guys don't know your own notifications? It's "save data and manage your apps with Opera max, FREE download!", for example. I don't want annoying ad-notifications that I can't disable -> uninstall.
Opera June 13, 2016
Hi Hans, we're looking into these push notifications! Can you give me an example of what they say? /Isabella Quite good except for a bit of problem (Samsung Note 5) When im reading online, the page would sometimes scroll by itself and i would not be able to scroll the page fast, i would have to continuous slide my finger, it would get tiring sometimes. And also no matter which mode i use, the bar for the url would sometimes disappear and would not come back no matter what i do until i switch app or close the app
Opera June 27, 2016
Hey, thank you for your feedback. Please send us a bug report so our team can make some investigations. :) /Rosi Constant crashing Multiple times daily. One everything from Google to Facebook to text based forums. Never had this issue until the update before last. Updated to "fix" it yesterday. Big joke it's worse now. Have reported with logs. Nothing changes. Edited to add 2 months later, still waiting on a fix. Still crashes multiple times HOURLY. Have updated as well as uninstalling and reinstalling but NOTHING changes. I always loved Opera until now.
Opera July 11, 2016
Hi Debbie, thank you for your comment. We're working on it, please stay tuned! We try our best to fix this asap! /Isabella
Update: Ouch, sorry you're experiencing that Debbie. Have you reported this bug already? If not please follow the steps here https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/mobile Also, it'd help if you could tell me which device you're using. Too good! I am always in love with this browser. Just too good. Please in future update, can you consider adding ability to reduce font size in the app? Plus, when going back, the page shouldn't load all over again since it has loaded before. That way it is faster to get back to previous page! Thanks alot!
Not bad. After using for a while I've noticed few annoyances. 1) adblock is only available if data saving is enabled. Data saving mode is frustratingly slow sometimes. 2) When typing something in the address bar the pop-up suggestions sometimes cover what you're typing. This also makes pasting anything into the address bar annoying. 3) Sometimes it feels like I have to press the back button twice to actually go back a page.4) Accessing downloaded files is a slight nuisance
Opera June 27, 2016
Thank you for the detailed feedback Mohammed. please send us a bug report on the mentioned issues. This way we can come up with solutions for these prbolems. /Rosi Hands down the BEST browser. I've been using opera since 1998. When i first started using a smartphone chrome became my most used browser because of cloud sync. But after using opera again the last few days, it definitely is quicker. Renders all sites correctly. Had no trouble interrupting clicks (taps) correctly. Dolphin really ticked me off because i kept clicking on a link and it kept going to something else. Using Opera i had no trouble with the very same link. Also LOVE that i can customize things. Chrome you are stuck with whatev
I'm requesting THEMES I'd like to see THEMES as IMHO the browser looks very Bland and I like to jazz up a browser with a colour, theme or photo. It has all the functions and I realise that for many that would suffice but I'm very light sensitive to white and thus need to put soft colours or themes onto browsers. I've been using Dolphin Browser for the past 6 months of which has the ability to import a photo to use as a browser background. Why can't Opera do this? I'll probably revert to Dolphin as this white is too much. Thanks.
Happy to see adblock integration I am really happy to see that you guys integrated adblock in the latest updates. However, happening with the future of the browser after the china acquisition? Are you keeping the servers in Norway or are you moving to China? Some people have some privacy concerns because of Chinese data policies.
Ui improved. Last few updates have been good. Also the app hangs/stutters very infrequently. However there is one bug annoying me. The discover section seems to automatically selected India-Hindi every time I restart opera. Hopefully it will be solved soon. Regrds
Opera November 22, 2015
Hi there, thanks for reporting this. We're working to have new updates with you soon that will hopefully resolve this. Please keep me up to date with your experience /Ruth TOP STORIES Hello Opera Inc., I really really do not want the 'top stories' tab on my homepage. I don't use it and I dont want it, how can I turn it off completely? C'mon, not everyone likes recieving updates from sites we care less. And it adds to additional costs from my data carrier. Opera June 18, 2016
Hey Chinedu, for now there is no way to disable this feature. In Opera Mini you can but in OFA no setting is available for this yet. We're looking into this :) I would advise to change it so at least your most relevant news will pop up :D /Isabella The browser of choice :) Been using Opera Mobile from the Symbian days and it has been my browser of choice all along. There are just a few things not to my taste in the latest update. 1. Not able to save to external memory in Marshmallow. 2. The tab switcher is too big and too high. But thanks to opera:flags, changed them back to the old style ;) EDIT: The option to change the tab style to old one has been removed from opera://flags :( Also there is a considerable delay between clicking the tab button and the tabs showing up.

Hey, thanks so much for your feedback! Good to know that you are enjoying our browser :) /Rosi A very very very very good browser! Update Update 2: same problems.. Uninstall Update : something went wrong with last update always show this message when I try to search via url bar "this site can't be reached" Very nice... Thanks... Totally forgot chrome browser
Opera June 16, 2016
Hey João, this is not suppose to happen :( I'll poke the teams about this, hopefully I can come back with some news. /Isabella Still useless After an interval of about two years I thought I would give Opera another try. It has no official or easy means to import bookmarks from the stock Android browser. What is Opera thinking? I cannot think of anything more annoying or a bigger obstacle to changing browsers. Ooh, I can sync my bookmarks. Sure, if I had any to sync.
