Slowly improving Finally an option to force zoom (thank you) and better text wrap. Now you need to add 1. hand gestures (like "C" to close tab; "N" for new tab ) and 2. option to disable referrer logging (aka http referer logging). Multi tab remains quite weak. If one returns to a previously loaded tab, it always has to reload. Overall, "Boat Browser for Tablet" remains a better browser. Addendum: I am on a tablet with no data plan.
It has lagged quite a bit while scrolling between History, Speed Dial and Discover tabs since last couple updates. Also please add a reading mode where the screen will stay on all the time.
Adds appeared Recently on some sites it started forwarding me on add sites. Is this the Opera fault or the problem of the sites? With that other browser does not have this issue on same sites
Unresponsive. Slower than Chrome. Nexus 5, Android 6 Opera devs, pls Dump chromium & make your own browser engine like in old days. Really frustrating to use Opera. It becomes unresponsive when loading a page.
Unusable - STILL FREEZING Still lagging abnormally. Already tried clearing the cache. Maintaining quality between updates is important and I can't give 5 stars because I simply can't use Opera anymore. Now four versions in a row (32, 33, 34 and 35) Opera is freezing/lagging a lot, starting slower, and there's no fix in sight. Still can't sync Speed Dials properly, and UI design needs to be a bit more flat... Sorry for the bad review but how can I enjoy Opera's awesomeness and handy shortcuts/swipe/features if it's freezing?
Well Done! I grew tired of being tracked by Chrome and of Firefox's page rendering issues (in Android). So I decided to try Opera..... what a pleasant surprise! It's quick to load most pages in spite of the torrent of scripts, cookies and other garbage most websites try to cram down our throats. So far, it's been rock solid stable on both my Android devices; Samsung S4 Mini and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It took me a couple of days to get used to the UI but now I find it intuitive and effecient with vertical and horizontal swipe motions. I really like the overall layout. The Speed-Dial, Bookmarks, History (nicely formatted to be usefull), Saved Pages and Discover (news feed) are all very accessible. The hidden gem feature however, is the Zoom and Wordwrap function. Finally, my eyes can get a break from squinting to read ridiculously small page fonts. Not all sites support this function but most seem to. IMHO the developers have achieved a nice balance of powerfull features and simplicity. They deserve much thanks for their effort. I hope they stay true to that philosophy as it has worked very well in this app.
