Getting Better Maybe The most recent incarnation to me is not quite as good as it was two versions back. I liked the icon in the top right corner with essentially all the functions under the one hamburger menu it just made more sense to me having everything consolidated that way maybe that will reappear along with the prominent button to turn on and off data savings and the associated functions. Hope you guys are listening would really love to see that change otherwise it seems pretty good.
Good for almost everything Why is data compression hidden so deep? It used to be easily accessible through the main menu (which is quite logical for a mobile device) but now it's four taps deep with two more taps to return. A very bad UX decision.
First time using this:Impressed! Beside the nice design and the fact that is pretty fast comparing to Mozila,Ghostery, and Chrome, it's user friendly, have the option to "block ads" and most interesting and nice is the "speed dial"... love it. One suggestion "me" have: on settings we should be able to chose what type of news we get and also chose by country... not a big fan of what happens outside my bubble ;)
Data savings I agree with other reviews, why change the layout when the old one was fine. Also, the main reason for opera apps are the data savings, the new version does not even show how much has been saved. It also feels slower then before. What is the point of the big opera banner at the top when you open the app? A bit of a waste of space I think.
Good but forcing the share and download icons on screen and over the top of content is a UI choice that makes it an instant delete for me. It's engineered well but that is a ridiculous choice as it covers text and gets in the way of where a user grabs to scroll. At least make it optional.
Browser Great, Feeds are Intrusive It pushes content toward the user with feed channels you can't shut off. The "POLITICS" channel is a straight feed from FOX NEWS's alt right toilet bowl. They need to concentrate on their browser and stop pushing weak content.
