Update : after the app update everything works like a charm. Ring doesn't seem to think yoga class was exercise, but otherwise very useful. This morning it suggested easy day because of increased temperature, and indeed I have a light fever. I wish some of the data would be available directly for monitoring, like temperature and HRV.
3 days with no charge at the start then after firmware updates I noticed it needed charging at least once a day. data missing from having over 50% (forgot what I was going to say, I have sleep problems will change in future) UPDATE april 2017 got worse. fully charged last night, awoke today and put on charge it says 'could not calculate detailed sleep analysis because ring battery was to low' IT WAS FULLY CHARGED. To start with this seemed fantastic, helped with my sleep. now when it does give you some data it looks wrong... 110bpm while sleeping for most of the night oh come on if you want to fake make it more plausible. So, this has gone from being fantastic at the start to an avoid and save cash.
Very disappointed especially given the price. Ring and app has real trouble syncing. Oura are looking into it but a month later I'm still waiting for a satisfactory outcome. Also questionable accuracy when it does manage to sync. Eg I was awake for 2 hours unable to sleep and the ring recorded some time in deep sleep. Very disappointed.
The tracking is so spotty even when ring is charged. Some nights no sleep is recorded. Steps count has got to be off. I have one day a week when I don't walk much and it will put me at over 10000 steps. Thank goodness I have a Garmin Vivoactive to compare steps to. Firmware also won't update after trying everything. So dissapointed. So much potential!
Promising Start, But Needs To Provide Access to More Information. Adding the graph for resting heart rate for sleep was a big step in the right direction, BUT WHAT ABOUT ACTIVITY! Why not show a heart rate graph for Activity too! And what about temperature? And respiration (if you can reliably present it)? And lastly, showing help when ever a category or information type is tapped is unintuitive and, annoying. The expectation is you'll show more granular or composite information. Why not popup detail graphs instead!? Give us access to all the information!
The sleep information is good. The activity information is not. I sat still for an hour and a half and it claimed that I walked about 200 steps. The step counter is not where it should be which is unfortunate.
