I have been on the fence for quite some time between signing up for an audio book service or borrowing from the library. I'm now convinced that I will be sticking with the library. Libby makes it extremely easy to find audio and ebooks that I am interested in. Play back is amazing, all the audio books I have listened to so far have had no problems with cutting out. All in all I give Libby an A+ and would recommend it to anyone that would like to listen to audio books but doesn't want to pay the cost of signing up for a subscription service.
This app is amazing! I never used the electronic resources available through my library before, but now I am so grateful to have them! I used to borrow book-on-CDs all the time for my commute, and I thought about paying for Audible to get a broader selection. But now I listen to audiobooks on Libby and absolutely love it! And it's free! The app is very easy to use, and has features I wouldn't even have thought of. For example, if you borrow a book, don't finish it before it is due, when you check it out again, Libby remembers where you left off and automatically starts it there. More people should know about this app!
This app is a library, e-reader, audiobook player and more. It is so easy to navigate and understand, and the selection is extensive. If you have a library card to a participating library, you have full access to the catalogue! You can borrow e-books, audiobooks, place holds. The app icon at the bottom is also customizable (nice detail 😊). I highly recommend this app to anyone who has a library card. Even if you don't like reading that much, this app is too good to pass up!
Wow what a great app to be reading on...it's quick, easy, and convenient for times you just need to relax with a book but couldn't be bothered to go to the library or look through your bookshelf. One concern though is that I'm a fast reader, so some things I just don't catch up on or I skip paragraphs of laziness of reading them, so I like to listen to audiobooks while reading the actual book along with it so I don't skip anything. This app doesn't let me do that, and its sometimes quite frustrating.
It's been great till last week or so. I have books checked out through an online library but My Shelf won't refresh and show them. The menu in the upper right corner is where the Activity link is so can't figure out if there's a way to refresh to see the books. I have to logout and log back in to see them frustrated!
Overall I like the app and use it a lot. It is easy to use and has good selection, although it drives me crazy when they have some books in a series, but not the first one. It does seem to have one glitch where it keeps asking me if I want to go back to a different place in the audiobook, but it is only mildly annoying. A great addition to this app would be the ability "friend" other people who use the app so you an send them recommendations.
In this update we've solved a problem where the contents of files could be jumbled when the download is paused and resumed. If you've had downloaded books that fail to open, this should fix your problem. (If any of your current loans have this problem, wipe the download by setting them to stream, then download again.)
