I used to love this app, but it seems no matter how many times I refresh, it won't show me the results of my search. Even if it's one result. I can "open in browser" and it displays fine, but that doesn't save my library card number and unless I have it to hand (which I don't, the app saves it, why would I?) I'm incapable of checking out books. So while it works great once I manage to check out a book, it simply won't let me get that far and it's unbelievably frustrating.
This app is great. I love it. The only complaint i have is lack of highlighting. Add that and its perfect. Even though nothing compares to opening up a real book and coming to the end knowing youve finished it, this app is the next best thing. Its convenient, Easy to use, and has got me reading non stop now. I reconmend it to any avid reader. Especially those who cant make it to a library for what ever reason. Check it out you wont be disappointed.
Right now I've borrowed a book and cannot read it (I CAN read, fyi). The pages upon pages of dribble that they offer as helpful are diametrically opposite of anything resembling help. I just wanna read a book. To clarify, the concept is stellar, when it works right, it's awesome. But as far as intuitive and easy to use ...c'mon guys, ya gotta do better. Since the above review I've had a lot of success with overdrive and a lot of pleasure reading the books from my library. The overdrive reading interface is quite sufficient, but downloading onto my Kindle app is far better.
Amazing app. This app filled the gap in the market for me. I go through an amazing amount of audiobooks and can never find enough good ones. All the audiobook websites and apps have limits and are a rip off. This means I can use my local library for free and I am so pleased that if asked I would actually give them money to help expand their range. I told all the guys I work with who use audiobooks when on long work trips and they couldn't believe it existed yet they hadn't heard of it. My suggestion is overdrive should advertise more clearly what they do and all that's available as even I only stumbled across it
This app is seriously a life saver for someone like me who can't afford to buy books but loves to read! Indispensable. However, I use two libraries. One of them is only chosen on the app in my phone, because it's easier than trying to add it to both kindle and Galaxy s6. It would be great if the overdrive account would automatically sync through some feature.
I don't take the time to review apps often, only if one is particularly bad or good and this one falls on the good side of the spectrum. Overdrive makes it really easy to browse and check out library books even if you're busy or on the go. Highly recommend. If you have any trouble syncing books across devices make sure you have logged in the same way on both devices (overdrive account vs library card info)
