It takes a bit of patience to get your library card set up, but boy is it worth it! Flawless interface to the Kindle store and download . If your loan isn't a kindle book very easily read on any other device. Just sorry I didn't find it sooner.
Usability nightmare. Very poor responsiveness when browsing or searching for a title. No way to flip quickly to skim or go to a specific page. No way to copy text if I need to do a proper search in an external app. I hate that my library forces me to use this. Exactly the opposite of the experience I want when reading a book.
So far I like the app it was a little confusing at first I didn't realize I needed an app to listen to my library rentals. But once I got it smooth sailing. Also I has audible from Amazon prior to this app. That app is much easier on playback and picking up where it left off as well as reverse and fast forward. Not to knock you overdrive you can't beat free so i appreciate you. But maybe take a look at audible from amazon to make minor adjustments to the features. Great app other wise definitely download it and hit the library if your ballin on a budget. Thanks overdrive this is great to wind down to end of night with some headphones while my girl is sleeping.
It's like audible for your public library. The controls for audio are great with nice big 30s back button for those moments after I noticed my mind wandered. The search isn't ideal, but free is nice. Be sure to bookmark often as when due date is reached, the book is removed but the bookmarks remain
For the most part this is a good app. Could use more background color choices in night mode. I have to sometimes wear 3 pair of sunglasses inorder to be outside. So I add dimly to all my tablets to darken the screen . I usually add at least twice the advertised life to a tablet.
This app is awesome because I don't have to pay for audiobooks...They can get expensive. They do have a large variety of books which you can download. The longest period of time to rent is 21 days I believe, but you have to manually change it to that, otherwise it only gives you like 12-14 days or so. The down sides are that you can wait up to several months for a book so get on the list quickly. Also the app is not as user friendly as it could be. It took me about a month to figure out everything I wanted/needed to figure out.
