Review from A Google User
love it! this is such a great little app for me to access library books on the go...it's easy to use and reliable!
Amazing for audiobooks! Okay for ebooks. So essentially I LOVE this app for checking audiobooks out from the library. It's easy to download and use, audio quality is good, it's easy to go back a bit if I missed part of it, and there is a great selection. Oh! And you'll never get charged for overdue books! It just lets you know how long you have left and then the books are deleted.
Great but I want one thing changed Love the app. Works great. Love that I can save the book into my device and save my data. The one thing I want changed or the option added is I hate having my lock screen background be the books cover art. If I'm listening to a book on the way to a meeting and while in the meeting I awake my phone to check the time. I don't need anyone looking to see what I'm reading. Other apps have the option to turn this off.
Overdrive is a great app in theory The app gives anyone with a library card access to a large amout of material, books, audiobooks, and video but the interface leaves a bit to be desired. The bookshelf and the on loans section should be combined but it isn't once you get a book on loan it should show up in your bookshelf. Kinda hard to figure out what books or material you have access to.
Been using this for years Had this since my Galaxy S3, even better in the S7. Works with my kids ipads as well on its own or with the Kindle app. Nice sync. Easy to use but sometimes once I've downloaded a book it takes a few less intuitive clicks to get to that book the first time. Easy after that. Reading on a phone is a pain so I mostly do audio books. Would like to see full series of books, but I think that's more my library's choice. Enjoy!
Overdrive Has Changed After the latest update, I no longer like trying to check my list of borrowed books. I used to be able to easily look to see which borrowed book I would like to read next. Now, five clicks, ten clicks on their "stack of books" I either receive no reaction from the app, or I continuously get routed into the latest suggested reads. BTW, how about changing those suggestion books to the genre of books I actually read. After 8 years of continuously borrowing books, you should have learned I prefer audiobooks!
Convenient and easy I like having books quickly downloaded to my phone and the app is brilliant for that. I think it's confusing to know whether to click on account or bookshelf symbols and you have to log into your library first, so it seems like too many steps. I think the first view should be a simple login, then the next should show your chosen books.
The app is now available in 15 additional languages.
