Review from A Google User
Pretty Good This is generally pretty handy - a smooth ebook reader that interfaces well with my library. All of the updates to far have been great improvements on a decent product.
Can't report issue in app. I absolutely love this app. It's great and let's me read or listen to new books. The only issues I have with the app is that when i go to download an audio book, not all the files download and that happened with the last update. The only recommendation it gives is to contact a librarian but I know how to fix it. But they can't fix the app, so having a way to report app issues would be nice. Will change rating once addressed.
It's great that there is a usable app to borrow books. I use it primarily for audio books and it works fairly well for that. I just download Kindle books to my kindle app and read there. Chromecast support would be huge for me and not hard for the developer to do. Useful in app notifications would be nice for things like books on hold that become available. Notification of expiring books etc. Overall, the UI needs a little tlc. I don't care about looks, but the flow and functionality is not intuitive
Right now I've borrowed a book and cannot read it (I CAN read, fyi). The pages upon pages of dribble that they offer as helpful are diametrically opposite of anything resembling help. I just wanna read a book. To clarify, the concept is stellar, when it works right, it's awesome. But as far as intuitive and easy to use ...c'mon guys, ya gotta do better. Since the above review I've had a lot of success with overdrive and a lot of pleasure reading the books from my library. The overdrive reading interface is quite sufficient, but downloading onto my Kindle app is far better.
I used to love this app, but it seems no matter how many times I refresh, it won't show me the results of my search. Even if it's one result. I can "open in browser" and it displays fine, but that doesn't save my library card number and unless I have it to hand (which I don't, the app saves it, why would I?) I'm incapable of checking out books. So while it works great once I manage to check out a book, it simply won't let me get that far and it's unbelievably frustrating.
This app is seriously a life saver for someone like me who can't afford to buy books but loves to read! Indispensable. However, I use two libraries. One of them is only chosen on the app in my phone, because it's easier than trying to add it to both kindle and Galaxy s6. It would be great if the overdrive account would automatically sync through some feature.
Really great app. Reliable, no crashing so far. The advanced search function is thorough and has so many different filters to use, so finding exactly what you want becomes simple. The app itself is somewhat confusing at first, though. It took me a while to figure out where my favorites/holds/downloads ended up between the main menu and the library menus.
