Recent research suggests that exposure to blue light before sleep may distort your natural (circadian) rhythm and cause inability to fall asleep.
The cause is the photoreceptor in your eyes, called Melanopsin. This receptor is sensitive to a narrow band of blue light in the 460-480nm range which may suppress Melatonin production - a hormone responsible for your healthy sleep-wake cycles.
In experimental scientific studies it has been shown an average person reading on a tablet or smart phone for a couple of hours before bed time may find their sleep delayed by about an hour.
The Twilight app makes your device screen adapt to the time of the day. It filters the blue spectrum on your phone or tablet after sunset and protects your eyes with a soft and pleasant red filter. The filter intensity is smoothly adjusted to the sun cycle based on your local sunset and sunrise times.

You select a distance and a completion time and Pace Yourself transforms into a personalized fitness coach informing you if you are achieving your set pace. Scientific research has taught us that snorers snore on average louder and more frequently in the supine compared to the lateral position. This is old news for the partner of a snorer. Then why is it not possible to prevent snorers from sleeping on their backs? Indeed, preventing sleeping in the supine position can be effective for many positional snorers. The classic approach is the so-called tennis ball method: the snorer has to wear a shirt with a tennis ball attached to the back during the night. If the person turns on his or her back during the subconscious state of sleep, the tennis ball will give an uncomfortable feeling and the person will ideally turn from the supine back to a lateral position. Unfortunately, tennis balls are generally poorly tolerated, often lead to sleep disturbances, and there are snorers who will still sleep in a supine position despite the ball on their back.
Snore Trainer is an app that runs on your Android device. The device is typically worn on the chest during sleep. Snore Trainer has been created for positional snoring, and not for patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
How it works
Snore Trainer will try to help you with your snoring problem. People sleeping on their backs are more prone to snoring and may even snore more loudly. Snore Trainer uses a stimulus when lying supine in order to try to teach you not to sleep on your back.

Wearing your device
In order to use the app, you could choose to place your device in a horizontal or vertical position on your chest with the screen facing forward. We advise you to position the device stably to avoid displacement. You can make a choice between several techniques to keep your device in place. You can use a self-made strap or chest pocket on a T-shirt. You can also use an elastic bandage. Some users made their own chest band.

Because you should not sleep with a plugged-in device on your chest, here are some tips to help you preserve the battery life of your device:
• Start the app with a fully charged battery.
• Avoid running energy-guzzling apps in the background of your device.
• Set the screen brightness on your device to low.
• If necessary, use an external battery.
• Turn off your screen, Snore Trainer will continue to run in the background.
