The Personal Analytics Companion
Mobile, Behavioral Research Platform
Check out http://www.pacoapp.com/ to manage your experiments.
This is version 4 with a completely redesigned api and a whole new way of building quantified self or behavioral science experiments.
NOTE: Paco asks for a lot of permissions because it is a platform. By default, Paco only uses the Internet permission. It uses it in order to confirm your Google account and to talk to the Paco server to retrieve experiments and send responses.
Each Experiment you join will show you what data it collects and ask you to consent to that collection when you are joining that experiment. To see how Paco experiments use services that require permissions, check out our website FAQ.

Stops working Every time I uninstall an app, Paco stops unexpectedly. I have a LG G5 running on Android 6.0.1.

Need improvement Already have sent the troubleshoot reports.
Benjamin Liu
Picture confirmation The picture taking functionality is very poor. After hitting okay there is absolutely no visual confirmation that the picture was in fact submitted. For the study which requires 4 pictures this is a problem since the user does not know which field has already been populated.

Actually a very nicely done app! I'm sure you're busy, but have you considered adding Android Wear compatibility? I think that EMA studies could benefit HUGELY from the convenience that smartwatches allow. If you could leverage responses from smartwatches, it could be a really great feature that could set this one apart

We updated this to show a thumbnail of the picture. I am not aware of the study with multiple pictures (we have a lot of researchers using it). Maybe it will look better now. Let us know. Thanks! We have considered wear, we just haven't had the time. (Note the late reply :-) ) Wow what a fast review updates after getting errors in day review and updated within few hours

Thanks. We are a small staff but we try :-) It seems that this app's relatively low score proves that most folks are idiots who don't even bother to understand what the heck they're downloading and using and whether it's appropriate for them. Watch the video or don't even get close to this app. Or Paco will bite you.

Haha! That's funny. Thanks for your support. Ugly and worthlesd This app is absolutely hideous. On top of that, I couldn't join the expirement I wanted, because I couldn't find it. If this app has a search feature, it does an amazing job of hiding it.
Obsessed I use it for all my self-tracking projects as well as my academic research.
Abandonware Their website says "on iOS 5 devices someday" really sets the tone for the rest of the user experience.

HI, This is under active development and has been for a couple of years. It is not abandonware. The iOS version is out. The website is out of date because we have been too busy working on features. Oops. If there were issues that you had problems with or didn't like, we'd be happy to hear something that we could consider addressing.
Best,

Hi Joel,
This is still in development, so, not sure how you found us, but if you had a particular purpose for it, we'd be happy ot help. Usability-wise, not great. I realize that this is made by programmers and that the main focus is the behavioral analyses, but the app itself is really confusing. A few suggestions I'd make, that personally would keep me around: 1-Update the interface to the standards used. The design looks like something from android 2.0 2-Why can't you create new tasks from the app? It's impractical to have to go to the website every time you want to add something new 3-Organize in a more separate way the tasks created by other users. It's very confusing to have random tasks available to you like that.

Thanks for taking the time to make comments. On #3, we actually have a plan to update the display of public experiments (tasks) that we plan to get to one of these days. On #1, we are limited on design staff, we welcome help! On #2, we would love to do this, but, it is often complex. Once again, we welcome contributions. Please email ideas. Paco by itself doesn't do anything. It is a behavioral science research tool for conducting your own experiments or working with a population.. Perhaps you were part of a study that you didn't enjoy? Please don't take it out on the app. Unstable I'm getting ramndom crashes and not receiving reminders
Paco Developers October 21, 2016
Thanks for emailing. Can you send a bug report the next time it crashes, or, please send a Troubleshooting report after it crashes. You can access it from the Main Screen, Upper Right Menu, Troubleshooting, Test, Email Report. You can email it to paco-users@googlegroups.com. I would appreciate it. Thanks. YouGov survey fail. Too many tasks, became tedious. App didnt remember my personal code, had to enter it each time. Gave up and uninstalled.

Hi Green Beastie,
Paco is a platform for building experiments, not a particular experiment. The tasks and personal code were problems with the experiment not Paco itself. Please don't give us a low rating for that.
Best,
Bob Wants too many permissions I really, want this sort of app to exist somewhere, and think it's a good idea. But I'm not granting you any google permissions to create an experiment!
