Six days a week the Daily Journal serves Johnson County and the south suburban area of Indianapolis.
Founded in 1963, it is one of Indiana's most honored community newspapers, having won many awards for newspaper excellence from the Indiana Associated Press and the Hoosier State Press Association.
In 2009 HSPA honored the Daily Journal with its coveted Blue Ribbon Award as the best daily newspaper in Indiana.
The Daily Journal also won first place in the general excellence category among newspapers in its circulation size.
Besides the daily newspaper, the staff also publishes the award-winning news Web site www.dailyjournal.net, and is home to several other publications, including SOUTH magazine, the Edinburgh Courier, Southside Homes, Southside Business Exchange and the Crier - the official base newspaper for Camp Atterbury.
