I enjoy reading the local news, some of the fluff pieces and sometimes even other people's comments. I never comment myself because of the Facebook requirements to login before commenting. I understand it's easier to let Facebook manage authentication for comments, I get it, but I think Facebook is too invasive so I won't do it. That said, I upgraded Newsday app recently and now I need to login to Facebook just to even READ the comments section? Why? I'm already logged into the Newsday app as a Newsday customer.

Pretty good app for local news here on Long Island. Covers a decent number of news stories but not in much depth usually. I would like to see them carry more stories and especially more coverage of national and international news. ,
On days I want to read the actual paper it will not work. Lousy. Since I wrote that comment it has gotten worse.
Times put on loading then forces a commercial for 30 seconds...sucks Now it requires sign in to read comments...note to it.. I have to sign in to use app.
