Review from John Chevalier
Really like this app! I just installed and began using the app a couple of days ago and I've yet to explore all the options that it offers. The amount of info this app provides about my Jeep is almost overwhelming! It's great! The instant gas mileage feature has me experimenting with the way I drive in an attempt to increase my mileage. My Jeep is pretty new so I've also written down all the readings and readouts from the app to use as a baseline if something goes wrong. I also like that the screens, gauges, and meters are already all set up for you. Other obd 2 apps provide pretty much the same info but give you a blank screen and make you decide which readouts you want to add to the screen. That's great for control freaks who get their jollies from personal customization, but I like simply touching a button on my screen and having it already all set up for me. The reason that I've given this app only 4 stars is that it doesn't recognize my specific make and model of vehicle so I had to buy the "generic" car version. I could understand this if I owned a foreign make of vehicle but my vehicle is a Jeep Patriot; A Chrysler product for Petes sake! You can buy this app specifically for just about any model of Ford or Toyota but not a Chrysler product? Anyway, still good.
One of the best ODB2 apps I've found, had it 2 years now, supports login and multiple phones. Pictures are 100% real. However login does not save car info, diagnostic tool does not give error codes or a full work up. It's a pretty app that runs greats.
Awful app. Wont let me connect to the server. i was able to connect to buy the full version and the add on for my f150 but know that i have a new phone i cant log into my account because they shut down their servers. do not get this app the company has gone under and shut down their servers.
I tried out 5 or 6 apps before determining this was by far the best available option for android. But it needs a bit more work. The gauge creation isn't very user friendly and my biggest beef is that i can't get the app to shut down when i want to! It continues to run in the background and sucks battery life. There is a "close" button in the notifications area but it doesn't work.
Weird permissions. I really like this app, it does what I am looking for and am willing to pay for the full version. How ever, i need to understand why access to my contacts, and my phone is required to operate the app. I understand the location for gps purposes, and even storage for logging, but not the others. Please explain, else I will look for an alternative that does not require these permissions.
One of my favorite OBD2 apps. The only thing that bugs me about it is that it is not validated through the Play Store. You have to create an account with Palmer Performance and use their servers for validation. Their site went offline for a while recently, making it impossible to use the app. Fortunately they are back online now. DashCommand is loaded with great features, and it is one of the best looking OBD2 applications.
Downloaded and bought the full version. Gotta say that I love the app. Looks and works great. Very organized for someone with slight ocd like me. One improvement I'd love to see is someway to automatically input all the info like fuel capacity etc... Based on car make and model. Thank you
