I bought the parrot bebop drone at the local walmart here and took it home all excited to try it out. So I read the instructions on how to pair it a few times and thought it was pretty easy to do but sadly no. I turned the paperweight on and waited a few minutes for it to boot up and pre paired to do the easy pairing and it was easy to pair to the galaxy note 2. Says "connectef". Then I downloaded the app called freeflight pro and installed it. When I opened the app up it said "connecting" but never connected. I even rebooted both the phone and the paperweight. I would recomend this fine piece of equipment for a light weight paperweight
Works well as advertised. It works well every time; it has not crashed nor suddenly stopped working like the DJI GO app or the Litchi app. After Parrot replaced the Free Flight 3, the map pre-loading feature disappeared entirety. Furthermore, I can no longer connect my Bebop 2 with the old Black Edition Skycontroller with the new Free Flight Pro. I Hope that Parrot will fix these bugs by the coming spring.
Terrible connection management, almost lost my drone The app has very hard time connecting to the drone (Bebop) even when Android wifi is explicitly connected to the drone hot spot. On the ground this is taking many retries, but when connection is lost in the air this is unacceptable - the wifi reconnects, but the app does not and the drone cannot be controlled, your only hope is the automaric return to home.
Very pleased, have bebop1 and black skycontroller . Take note connect to skycontroller first, if can't connect skycontroller to your smartphone or tablet is because skycontroller is on 5ghz network. Hook skycontroller to TV via HDMI, go-to midi management and change skycontroller wifi to 2.4ghz, any channel. Connect to skycontroller first, then open free flight pro, bebop will connect. Mine connect before app open, fly without my tablet if wanted. Awesomeness
Worst app ever! Using this with bebop, bebop 2 and sumo spider on a couple of different phones and it's a miracle if it connects! Wifi is on but the app will not see the drone. Useless! Also the audacity to ask 15 quid for the maps feature and then another 15 for the follow me... Shame on you,
Does not work with my Acer a500 tab When I download the app from the playstore ff3 downloads instead of ff pro like the icon shows. I open the app and its ff3 and does not work since it was replaced by the pro version. The freeflight section only plays a video... the Acer a500 is running ics. Tried everything to update but says its utd but its ff3 instead of pro... Pro works fine on my galaxy s4 phone...
