Sure, Payconiq does what it's supposed to, but there is absolutely nothing to get excited about. It only works at select stores, as opposed to something like Android Pay or Seqr that'll work at any contactless terminal. There's no real reward for the user (unlike Seqr's cashback system), and it won't work without an active data connection. There are simply much better alternatives out there.
This app is what is causing ING to delay Android Pay, despite the fact Android Pay is just better all around. Android Pay works anywhere NFC payments are supported, whereas merchants need to register for Payconiq.
Omg bad app
Nice idea but it'd be easier if it were included in the regular banking apps because now almost no of my friends use it since they don't want to have 2 separate banking apps. The Bancontact feature already got integrated, but doesn't offer the possibility to pay from a distance. Payconiq is nice in the way that it doesn't require you to enter/know someone's bank account number, you just need to have the person in your phone's contacts. Another nice feature would be the option to let other apps make a plugin which uses Payconiq to process payments. This would work especially well with apps like Splitwise so you can pay your friends back from within that app.
This apps syncs with my ING account so nicely. Also, when I pay to may friends or they pay me, the amount gets credited at that very moment UNLIKE BanContact. Love this app.
Na overstap van iPhone naar Motorola kan ik deze app gelukkig verder gebruiken. Alleen nog geen weg gevonden om via vingerafdruk te bevestigen? Kan dit niet voor android?
In this update we’ve made it easier to register for Payconiq when you don’t have ING, KBC/CBC or Belfius. Thanks for supporting Payconiq!
An easy and convenient way to access your banking services on the move.
