OCR is very good, but overall, this app is unusable for me. Reason: I scan a letter or a document that I want to save, this app only offers to save a txt of it, not a PDF that includes both the image of the document and the OCR text. It does literally the opposite of Google drive scan (that one saves just the image in PDF), this one just OCR without the image in txt.

love PDF gear after seeing it recommended in computer active magazine, it does almost everything evil Adobe has paywalled behind terrible practices & subscription. One minor problem is accessibility here, website says utilities have OCR, awesome because I want TTS of papers send by 🐌 mail. But if I want OCR on a PDF from Internet Archive (because it was scanned ages ago when OCR accuracy was low) or image from the web that has text, I can't find a way in this app it's input from camera only.

I was pretty happy with the scans and the options this app provides. The one thing I'm looking for is a scanner app that allows me to password protect them in-app. It's really unfortunate since the original PDFgear also doesn't allow me to do it in-app, but instead i have to bring it up on the desktop app. It's a small function that I really need since I'm often scanning private documents! I hope you can add this feature!
