Great app for journaling. I LOVE the idea of an internet journal, but security was a concern. Not with Penzu. I love that it syncs quickly and you can customize text, add long quotes and pictures. It is so much easier and calmer to type on a computer than keep a journal open and in a comfortable position. Penzu I give 5 stars, but the app loses a star for two things that aren't there. 1) timestamp. This is a big one for me. You can add a timestamp on the computer so I can say, write at 8am and say so. Then write again at 4pm and add an afternoon paragraph to the same entry. This is not available on the app. 2) you can't start writing with a prompt in the app.
Overly complicated and I don't trust their encryption. Their way of encrypting things is a hassle. You need to put the password in twice and then a hint and it's locked and encrypted. When you want to write down a thought, long or short, stick your password in and it's unlocked and unencrypted. So you write your thought and it auto syncs unencrypted and stays that way untill you stick a password in twice and a hint and lock it again. I would love my data to be encrypted on my phone and nothing reaches their servers that isn't encrypted.
Awful. Journey is better. Pro features are idiotic. Some available on Web only, others on Android, etc. No video file support, Markdown, Markup Syntax, themes (Android), and much more. Go to Diario, Writeaday or Journey. All better. This is just awful, maybe back in the Stone Age such simple features and messy support would be okay.
It was great INITIALLY that I upgraded to PRO version. However I faced continous syncing issues which then resulted in the creation of "Unclaimed Entries" journal of unsync posts. I also lost my pics before and the support team were unable to retrieve it. That is, after multiple times of bugging them to respond. Looking for a better journalling app. :(
Love the cross-device syncing and the formatting options. Other journaling Apps I tried fall short in formatting options for my journal entries. To many that won't matter, but it's a choice criterion for me. Overall a good app that works smoothly!
I love penzu. For the first time I have a journal that I can write in honestly without having to censor myself. When I was blogging, I was always afraid of somebody misinterpreting what I said so I kept editing myself, which then didn't didn't reflect what I honestly thought. I have a range of journals in penzu, each for a different purpose and they are very user-friendly. I do need to find out how to let people read entries if I want them to. Thank you penzu
