You can find out the current status of your flash counter and firmware state (custom or official) by booting into "download mode" on most devices. The usual way of getting into "download mode" is by first turning off your device, then turning it on by pressing and holding VolDown+(Home)+Power. Alternatively, the "adb reboot download" command also often works.
When you run TriangleAway, if your device and firmware are supported, it will show you the detected state of the binary (custom or official) and flash counter value, and the option to "Reset flash counter". Please confirm that the information shown is correct before resetting the values.
On a number of devices, TriangleAway can work, but your firmware may not be supported directly. In that case, the app will tell you it needs to reboot into a special boot mode, which will be happen if you select "Reset flash counter". The device will reboot into a special mode which will allow you to review the current status and reset the binary and flash counter values (or abort and do nothing). On some devices this will actually trigger the counter to 1 if its 0 - so if you're "just checking", do that in download mode!
!!! THIS IS A DANGEROUS OPERATION AND COULD POTENTIALLY BRICK YOUR DEVICE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. A USB JIG IS PREFERRED IF YOU HAVE A WORKING ONE !!!
( and by brick I mean brick - only a board replacement or a JTAG unit will be able to save you, don't mess with boot(loader) stuff unless you *really* mean it! )
Note#1: using Triangle Away may unmount your SD card. Reboot or manually remount it from Android settings.
Note#2: on new devices status can only be reset on stock firmwares!

Whether or not Triangle Away works may depend on your kernel, try flashing a different one if it doesn't work.
Please also note that some devices set the counter to 1 at every boot if you are running a custom kernel or recovery. On these devices, Triangle Away may always display 1 - make sure to check the counter in actual download mode.
For discussion and technical details, see the XDA-Developers.com thread here:
Note that this download is also available from that thread completely for free. You can go there and download it for free, or buy me a beer and download it from Play. It is the same program.

With this app, you can control the shutter of your smartphone camera from a distance of up to 10 meters. When you want to get in the picture, set up the smartphone camera, place yourself in view and tap the shutter icon in your SmartWatch display or tap your SmartBand™ or SmartBand™ Talk to get in the picture.
You can also adjust basic camera settings in your SmartWatch such as flash and zoom. If you have the Smart Imaging Stand from Sony, you can use this app to steer the imaging stand from your SmartWatch.
To use this app extension, you must have Smart Connect and the dedicated Sony app for your smart accessory installed on your Android smartphone or tablet.
Note: When you have installed this app, it will be activated automatically in your smart accessory. It will not appear in your application or home screen. Open the application settings via Smart Connect or via the phone or tablet status bar.
Works with: SmartWatch MN2, SmartWatch 2 SW2, SmartBand SWR10 and Smart Band Talk SWR30.

The most popular screen on/off app. Reviewed by LifeHacker, MakeUseOf, TheNextWeb and many others ...
• Pocket Sensor: Turns the screen off if your phone is in your pocket.
• Table Sensor: Detects your phone is lying on a table and turn it off if not in use.
• Turn Screen On by Motion: If the screen is off and it's facing up the device can be woken up by moving it.
• Keep Screen On by Motion: It keeps the screen on while you are watching the screen. It relies on the small movements of your hand while holding the device.
• Smart Lock support: It's a workaround to make the Smart lock feature work fine on devices with Lollipop.
• Locale plug-in for: Tasker, Llama and others
VERSIONS: FREE vs. UNLOCKED by IN-APP PURCHASE
In the Unlocked version:
• Better performance
• Widgets, Shortcuts
• Wider range for Turn Screen On by Motion Timeout
• Wider range for Table Sensor
• Suspend in Landscape mode
• Exclude Apps option
It should be not significant. I experienced about 6 per cent extra consumption on the test device. However it can be much higher by often using the Turn Screen On by Motion feature. Thus, keep your phone face down if you want to save energy.
Where is the Pro version? I cannot find it on Play Store
The Pro version is discontinued unfortunately, due to security reasons.
To change to the Unlocked version, please, do the followings:
- unlock the Free version by In-app Purchase
- send me the two purchase numbers or the two receipts you got from Google Play (Pro and Unlocked)
- and I'll refund the purchase of the Pro version
Sorry for the inconveniences.
★ Proximity Sensor: Simply wave your hand over your phone to change/play/pause the music.
★ Overlay Button: This button would always stay on top of everything else that you do and dragging it would control your music and volume.
★ Accelerometer: Change the current playing track by just a little shake of the device.
★ Volume Buttons: Override volume buttons to change tracks instead of increase/decrease Volume. You can still change the volume by double or more clicking of the volume buttons.
The background service run by this app would never shut down (except when you run all out of memory and application like whatsapp start to shut down.) The service would restart even if they stop for some reason.
Details about each function are given below:
★ Proximity Gesture Service: The Proximity sensor is present in almost all android devices and is present at the very top of the device near the front camera.
There are three action that can be done using this function, which are, "One Swipe", "Two Swipes" and "Hold". The action to be taken for each of the services can be selected from within the app which can be:- 'Play/Pause', 'Next Track', 'Previous Track' or None of the Above. You can choose the time required for the "Hold" gesture to register from the app.
★ Overlay Button Service: This is the most intuitive function of this app. A button appears on top of the screen which can be used to do anything that you can imagine to do with your music.
You can position the button anywhere by simply long holding and then dragging it. To change/pause music or to change the volume you simply have to move it. There are four directions in which you can move it (directions being left, right, top and bottom) and the user can select the action (action being 'Play/Pause', 'Next', 'Previous', 'Stop', 'Volume Up', 'Volume Down' and 'None') to be performed on movement in each direction.
Additionally there are two more directions (diagonally upwards towards right and same towards the left) which are reserved for volume change.
The additional directions can again be disabled from within the app. When changing volume user can select whether to show/hide the default volume UI.
★ Shake Controller/Accelerometer: Simply shake the device to change the current playing track to the next one in the list. The intensity for shake can be changed from the app. This function might not work in some devices when screen is off but that depends on you device vendor and most of them allow it.
★ Volume Button: Press the volume button once to change the track to next or previous based on your settings.
Change volume by double/triple or more pressing of the volume buttons. But be cautious to keep an interval of at least 5 seconds between a volume change and track change or the volume would change unnecessarily (no great harm done). Whenever you use the volume button to change the track, the UI might show a change in volume but it doesn't really happen, the volume remains the same. Also double pressing the volume only just increases or decreases the volume once and not twice.
Help for each function is provided in the app and the UI is extremely intuitive.
This app is free for a limited time and any suggestions are welcome. Simply post them in reviews below or mail me.

Hovering Controls uses the proximity sensor of your device to register simple motions performed in front of your device. Predetermined apps can be launched by either hovering over the sensor, swiping once, or swiping twice. Silencing an alarm or ringtone is as simple as a hand wave. You can also control your media playback this way, allowing you to change to the next or previous song or video without ever turning on the phone screen and physically touching it.
Do you like Quick Glance from Galaxy S4? Now you can have it too!!
And that is not all, you can lock/unlock your phone, answer calls, slide betwen photos in your gallery and scroll up/down in your browser!! (browser scroll and gallery slides need a rooted device)
Two modes are available, both offering a different take on opening apps:
Target mode: open a pre-determined app with a set gesture
Carousel mode: open up apps from a set list of apps
The app uses proximity sensor, use test sensor in menu to test your sensor sensibility and finde how you have to wave for it to detect. If you decide to hide notification icon, the service may stop working if android needs memery resources (it will stop detecting events ) for a while until it is restarted by its own.
