Poor UX The app is more stable than any of the 3rd party ones, but the UI needs a significant overhaul.
Could be better The pre selection of the scenes take a while to understand. Not bad but could be better ...
Slowly getting better
Stable Lights respond quicker with the recent app and bridge update. UI could still use some fixing up.
Disgustingly bad Well it's awful. Plain painful to use. While there are many alternatives that are really powerful, the fact that the lights with terribly with the stock app out of the box is just bad. If independent devs can make intuitive, simple to use, powerful and varied apps, then why can't Philips?
Love the lights but the app... Phillips has done an amazing job with the first iteration of their lights. I don't have too many issues with app layout, though the scenes aren't organized whatsoever on startup, and the app feels too cumbersome at times due to the huge layout. What really gets me is that there are a number of alternative apps with much better functionality & features, while the Phillips app itself is bereft of most of the useful, powerful features you can find elsewhere.
