Nautical terminology is a precise, specialized vocabulary used in shipping and everyday nautical life. Terms for ship parts, maneuvers, directions, commands, and typical phrases appear in training, literature, technology, and conversations on board. Two learning modes support different learning goals. Multiple choice enables quick practice sessions with immediate feedback and is well-suited for rapidly building a large vocabulary. Self-assessment strengthens active recall: You see a term or meaning, try to recall the corresponding entry yourself, and then evaluate whether you knew it, almost knew it, or didn't know it at all. This approach improves long-term retention.
