ChakDe is an initiative that intends to provide you with an opportunity to connect with your roots and the people who belong to those roots. The need to establish bonds or ties with others that provide emotional security and serve to reduce the isolation and insignificance is at the heart of human existence. The human soul’s desire for roots is universal. Losing their connection with a common history, place, culture, language, religion, traditions, institutions, and civilizational memory uproots people. Without these elements, we feel deprived of participating in life. Uprootedness is that deprivation. Rootedness is what we crave. It allows us to identify ourselves with others of similar backgrounds and mindsets.
In today’s global economy people move around from the place they were born to another town, city, or country in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones. In 2021 an estimated 280.6 million people moved around the world leaving their homes, belongings, and loved ones behind. ChakDe provides you with a platform to connect with people who share common history and culture. We believe culture can give people a connection to social values, beliefs, religions, and customs that they grew up with and left behind. It allows them to identify with others of similar mindsets and backgrounds. Cultural heritage can provide an automatic sense of unity and belonging within a group and allows us to better understand previous generations and the history of where we come from.
