Won't record or take photos Works well with speed signs and showing distance etc. But the app shows me it is recording and also provides the caption snapshot taken but the files don't exist, which negates the main reason for me purchasing and using the App!
Eye On Phone Nifty novelty, but not perfect for my driving habits. The basic functionality is almost there with warnings, speedlimits and so on as expected. However, I favor portrait mode, especially when I'm wearing sunglasses due to incompatible orientation between my polarized phone screen and sunglass lens, but iOnRoad only functions in landscape. I would not have been able to use this app at all with my Nexus 5, the screen of which was blacked out by my sunglasses in landscape. LG G3 is just dimmed, and I can see screen 'unimpaired' if I tilt my head about forty-five degrees, as if that were not an impairment in itself. I favor Waze for my commutes, but it defaults to Google Maps and can't find where to change that. I favor a podcast player, but it defaults to music player. The virtual online dashboard is sweet, which developer says was a priority for users (maybe investors seems to me), but my priority as a user non-investor would be on portrait and favored app selections.
Latest version works much better than previously; I've revised my rating.
Great app but...Samsung Galaxy Alpha I love to be able to upgrade my car equipment with an app and this one is awesome let me be clear. It recognise signs perfectly and the distance between cars is fairly accurate. But it stops when you choose something from its menu, like Navigation or music It won't run in the background and the video say its recording but the recording itself is nowhere to be found. ALSO YOU CAN NOT SHUT DOWN ANOYING OFF ROAD SIGNALS WHENEVER IT THINKS YOU'RE OVER THE WHITE LINE or over the limit you set up on startup.
Quite a good app I just purchased iOnRoad Pro after using the Lite version for a good while, since I wanted to get the video recording functionality. I have a few concerns and suggestions that you may want to take into account. 1) Speed sign detection does not work at all, at least on my Verizon Moto X (1st gen). I have not tried it at night yet, so I don't know if it works then or not. Not once has it sensed a speed limit sign. 2) The "off-road" functionality is too sensitive, mine was beeping frequently any time I even got close to the line, which gets annoying since the normal tendency is to get close to the line on the inside of a corner. It would be great if you could add some sort of sensitivity adjustment for that. I'd love to see a small battery status/charging indicator, say between the compass rose and the menu button. Overall, though, I love the app and commend your efforts to continually update it and to address issues.
Henry Excellent app. Please answer the following questions. Were do you view your video recordings if they are not in your gallery? How do you go into settings? And how do you go about purchasing the $4.99 unlimited car location feature?
- Improved speed sign recognition
- Various bug fixes
Don't waste your time. Be aware of road traffic and speed camera in real time !
