Edited: The guys at Pillsy couldn't fix the problem so they sent me a new one. It works perfectly! 1 of my 4 caps refuses to connect to my phone. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it just won't connect. The 2 connected to my husband's phone are working just fine. This one won't reconnect or track how many pills are left.
I was running a version of the Pillsy app which was not fully compatible with Android 8.0, and had a lot of issues (and posted a not-so-great review). Now that the app has updated, my experience is substantially better. I am getting proper notifications and the app icon shows up now, so the situation is much improved. I'm happy to report my previous issues with the Remaining Pills not decreasing and me not being able to manually update the remaining pills are both resolved as well. The app is now working better than it ever has for me before. I'll report back once I've spent more time with this version to see how accurate it is at detecting when I take my pills automatically, and adjust my score again accordingly. At this point, I would recommend this app.
I really want this to work! This is the first time in years that I haven't taken my pills on time, because I'm using this app instead of medisafe. I get one reminder on the due time and then nothing else. Alerts need more diversity. I feel like the app people didn't look at what was out on the market already. Medisafe is offering their own pill caps now. I may go unless this app experience improves. Will update my review if it does though.
As the reviews here indicate, this app wasn't very good to begin with, and with the update to Android O, it appears to have gotten worse. Reminder on the phone sound for a minute, but once finished, there is no persistent notification. So if you weren't near your phone at the right time you don't get reminded! Also taking the lid off no longer records a dose. You have to go into the app and do that manually. Even when you do, the pills remaining isn't updated.
App needs work. PillsyHelper is falsely notified that pills haven't been taken, even through the app records that it has. The quantity of pills tracked in the bottle is not accurate or does not change when it's supposed to. so it'll never remind you to refill or give you an accurate status. However, it does beep as a reminder to take a pill, and does record the action of taking pills.
Great idea. Needs work. Has yet to change the number of pills remaining. Needs a better scheduling option (custom days/times). As well as an alert when X number of pills are left. When you choose "skip", the alert still goes off on the bottle.
