I'm very disappointed in what this app has become. I've been using it since it was completely free. It has recently become useless. I can't get trails to render on the map. It will not download data which is one of the reasons I pay the subscription. My confidence with this app in new unfamiliar trails is gone. I can't count on Trailforks to get me in or out of trail systems safely.

Update: the app isn't getting any better, super glitchy or "syncing" takes forever making the app useless. Total disappointment. I think this app is loosing focus and purpose. Now also it pretends to be a social media app, there are plenty of options that are free for social media. It's getting buggy with every new feature. I have been a supporter of the app for a long time and paying for the pro version of it but it isn't stable enough for the price.

There is an option in the app settings to disable the feed from opening by default. It also closes automatically soon as you interact with the map. Its not about being a social media app, there is that aspect, but its a secondary one. The feed is most powerful for discovery, especially the nearby feed.

This app worked great until 2025. Whatever Outside did ruined the app. It's incredibly slow, buggy, barely loads trails, doesn't even have trail systems available to click on when not zoomed in at the right level. This app was great, but now it's almost impossible to look for regional trails. Just sluggish. They ruined a great tool for exploring mtn bike trails.

It sounds like you either don't have the region downloaded or your database is corrupted. You can contact us via the support page in the app, even upload us your database to debug. But doing a reinstall of the app should clear up your issues.
