About this app

For landscape, travel, nature, city, night, time-lapse, star-trail, Milky Way and astro photographers: PlanIt Earth builds on everything we learned from PlanIt Pro and takes previsualization to a new level.

Ansel Adams called it previsualization: imagining the final print before the shot is taken. Seeing a scene before you travel greatly raises the odds of coming home with the photo you wanted. PlanIt Earth is built around that one idea: see the shot before you go.

What sets it apart is the photorealistic VR viewfinder. Instead of reading numbers on a map, you stand at your camera position and see the real terrain, built from satellite imagery and elevation data, with the Sun, Moon, Milky Way, stars, clouds, 3D markers and your framing where they will be. Scrub time and watch light and shadows move through your composition.

There isn't always a signal in the field. Preload offline elevation, maps and markers and keep scouting and planning offline.

Saves so much time when planning astro shots and definitely worth the price if you shoot often enough. I used the old version (PlanIt Pro) for a while and PlanIt Earth so far is a strict upgrade for what I do.

I am a big fan of planit pro, when I got a message that a new version came out. I got excited and installed it. I start using it but I am kind of lost in this whole new design. yes lot of new components were added but very very hard to find and use them. it is definitely lost the ease of use that pro version has with the new design and layout. some renaming of the feature were hard to find including shadow feature when say moon rising over a pin. I would love to give 5 star but I can't.
