In the agricultural community, there are farmers, economists, environmentalists, and consumers, among others. There are those interested in the health of crops as well as those particular about the business side of things. There are those who feel concerned when there is product loss due to crop diseases and there are environmentalists who wonder about how to curb these losses, due to the negative influence of these on the environment.
Similarly, there are business people who are particular about the economic losses this crop damage causes. Then, there are the farmers and/or farm owners directly affected by these losses, and constantly seeking ways to understand the cause of these as well as ways to stop these.
To meet the needs of all these groups of people, think Plantheus. Here, at Plantheus, we are particular about reducing crop waste borne from crop diseases. To do this, we have created a means of infusing technology with agriculture in ways that are diagnostic and suggestive. This means that not only does our application tell you what is wrong with your product; it also gives you detailed information about this as well as provision of best management practices, to help you minimize loss, and maximize gain. By so doing, the environmentalist, economist, and farmers have less to worry about while the consumers have more produce available to them.
What do you need? A phone with a camera. All you need to do with this is position this camera on the side of the crop showing signs of disease, and the diagnostics will be done. While internet connection is needed to sign up to the platform, this is not needed for the diagnostics to be run.
Plantheus also offers farmers a community; a community of other farmers and agricultural experts from which they can learn, and share ideas. And together, they can grow their farms, and eventually, their income.
