About this app

Make a passport, visa or ID card photo on your phone, sized for your document and ready to print.

HOW IT WORKS
• Choose your document: search a country or browse Passport, Visa and ID card formats.
• Before the photo: tips on background, light, glasses and distance.
• Crop and align: head top, eye line and chin guides, with zoom, rotate and reset buttons.
• Check the preview: exact size at 300 DPI, plus indicative resolution, background and light checks.
• Export: save the photo or a 10 × 15 cm (4 × 6 in) print sheet with cut guides, or share the JPG.

FORMATS
United Kingdom, France, Canada, Schengen visa, United States, India, Germany, China, Japan, Brazil, Russia and Indonesia. For the UK, France, Canada and Schengen formats, the app shows the government page we checked and the date. Other sizes are common formats to confirm with the issuing authority. The list holds more than 50 countries and formats, 4 of them checked against an official page.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your photo is processed on your device and never uploaded by the app. No account. Ads and purchases use Google services, which may process device and billing data according to your privacy choices.

PAY ONLY TO EXPORT
You see the preview and the checks before you pay. To export, buy one photo, or Pro for life (unlimited exports, no ads, one payment). Play shows the price in your currency.

GOOD TO KNOW
Independent tool, not affiliated with any government. Checks are indicative: the issuing authority decides whether a photo is accepted.

FORMATS AND SIZES
The passport photo size depends on the country. The United States passport photo size is 2 x 2 inches (50.8 mm), the same square asked for on US visa and DV lottery photo forms: a 2x2 passport photo leaves the app at 600 x 600 pixels. The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and the Schengen visa use 35 x 45 mm, Canada and Brazil 50 x 70 mm, China 33 x 48 mm, India the 2 x 2 inch square and Indonesia 40 x 60 mm. Every format shows its measurements, the head height range when the source we checked publishes one, and a link to the authority that sets the passport photo requirements.

QUESTIONS
Can I take a passport picture at home? Yes. Stand in front of a plain, evenly lit wall, have someone shoot with the phone camera, then line up the top of the head, the eyes and the chin with the crop guides.

How do I print a passport photo? Export the 4 x 6 inch sheet. It works as a print template: the same picture repeated with cut guides, six copies of a 2x2 photo or eight of a 35 x 45 mm one. Save it to your gallery or share the JPG to a print shop or a photo kiosk. The file carries 300 DPI, so a passport photo print comes out at the right size.

What about the background? The app does not replace your background. The preview runs an indicative check and warns you when the background looks dark or busy, so a passport photo white background comes from the wall or sheet you shoot against, not from the app. For France it also warns when the background is too white, because the French rules ask for light grey.

Can I make a baby passport photo? Lay the baby on a plain, light, smooth sheet, shoot from directly above and align with the same guides. The sizes are the same as for an adult.

Does the passport picture app need a connection? Cropping, checks and export all happen on the phone. The network is used for ads, purchases and ad measurement; your photo never leaves the phone.

You get a JPG, and the print sheet as a PDF if you prefer.
