Your ukulele sounds flat. You have 30 seconds before the jam starts. Open this app, pluck a string, and the dial centres in real time, sharp or flat, you see it instantly. Then tap Chords and the shape you need is right there, in the tuning you actually play.
🎵 HOW IT WORKS
1. Tap a string on screen
2. Pluck it near your phone mic
3. The app tells you in words: tighten or loosen, until the string glows green
4. Done, your uke is in tune
🎸 THE TUNER
• Chromatic pitch detection, reads any note from 110 to 1000 Hz, roughly A2 to B5
• Large needle dial with the exact cents offset (±)
• Tighten or loosen written in words, so a beginner never turns the peg the wrong way
• Six named tunings, all included: Standard GCEA, Low-G, Baritone DGBE, Slack-key GCEG, D tuning ADF#B, Fifths CGDA
• Reference pitch calibration from 432 to 446 Hz, included
• Tap any string to hear its reference tone and tune by ear
• Haptic buzz the instant a string hits pitch
• The tuner needs no connection, and never sends your audio anywhere
🎼 THE CHORD LIBRARY
• 144 chords: 12 roots by 12 types, major, minor, 7th, maj7, m7, 6th, m6, sus2, sus4, diminished, augmented, add9
• Clear four string diagrams with finger numbers, barres, open and muted strings
• Chords follow the tuning you selected in the tuner
• Baritone DGBE diagrams, which almost no chord chart publishes: worked out from the same reference chart, not guessed
• The whole library opens without paying anything
🪕 FOR EVERY TYPE OF UKULELE
Soprano, concert and tenor use standard GCEA, loaded from first launch. The banjolele and the six string ukulele use those same four notes. Baritone uses DGBE, the four highest strings of a guitar. All of these tunings are in the app, none behind a payment.
👶 BUILT FOR BEGINNERS
The app shows you which way to turn the peg, in words, not just with a needle. Green means in tune. The chromatic engine catches a string even when it is very far from pitch. No music theory required.
🔒 PRIVACY
Audio analysis happens on your device in real time. Nothing is recorded, stored or transmitted. The microphone is the only sensitive permission this app asks for. Like most apps that show ads, it also declares network access, an advertising identifier and billing, used for the ads and for purchases, never for audio.
💛 WHAT PRO ADDS
The tuner and the chord library work without paying. Pro is for people who want to go further, and it removes the ads:
• No ads anywhere in the app
• Every alternate position of every chord, up to four shapes per chord, instead of the first one
• Hear the chord played back, strummed at your own reference pitch
• Save the chords you are working on
Pro is a one-time purchase, which stays yours with no renewal, or a monthly subscription, or a weekly subscription with a 7 day trial during which the app keeps showing ads. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in Google Play. An option that removes the ads on their own is also available, as a one-time purchase.
HIGH G vs LOW G
Standard tuning is G4-C4-E4-A4. The G string is re-entrant, higher than the C string, which gives the uke its bright sound. Low G drops that fourth string an octave for a fuller bass range, popular for fingerstyle. Both are in the app, and both share the same chord shapes.
MORE WAYS TO USE IT
• A ukulele tuner with chromatic pitch detection: any note from roughly A2 to B5, read in real time with no network.
• A low G ukulele tuner and a baritone ukulele tuner, named as such, not hidden behind a generic readout.
• A ukulele chord chart you can carry: look up any chord right after tuning, no second app, no network.
• Baritone ukulele chords, which chord charts almost always skip because they assume GCEA.
• A 432 Hz ukulele tuner: set the reference pitch anywhere from 432 to 446 Hz for ensemble playing.
• A tuner that works backstage, at the beach or on a plane, with no signal at all.
