Worked great on my older kitkat phone, even better on the Sky with marshmallow. Both upstream bandwidth and low latency at your home are important for remote streaming through your server though. Noticeable improvement after TWC bumped us over 2mbit from the old 1.2mbit upstream (standard internet plan). One of my favorite features is how I can queue up downloads to the laptop remotely so they are ready to stream directly to the roku's when we get home (no buffering that way).
Noticing a couple service issues: 1) When I search and then add a movie to be recorded I can't search again. The search box will clear when I hit the "x" but I can't get back into the search box. I have to close the app and restart it. 2) There is no way in app to report an issue. I'm left hoping you actually reads your reviews.
Stuck in the '00s All new interface? Who do they have doing their coding...a bunch of old men and women who learned software development in the 90s, and haven't picked up a book since? Do they think they're the only media servers available and we all just have to settle? The biggest change they've made in the last few years was to their logo, which is terrible and makes no sense. There's a lot of competition out there, and they are a lot slicker than PlayOn.
I was hoping when this became an app that I could use it. I do not have a computer. I use my smart phone and tablets only. Playon is useless to me. I thought it would help me cut my cable. But it is useless without a computer.
The app hasn't been letting me play any video's. I can work it on my roku but can not play anything on my chrom cast or my phone.
New interface? Got excited when the latest update said all new interface. Don't see any changes at all. I'll stick with using Plex to watch my library.
All new interface. Added free features. Back-end improvements. Local media player.
Record and download any video from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and many more.
