Awesome, use it constantly! Paid for lifetime Plex Pass. Only thing is, music track transition need some work. The player Interface is good but playing concert sins for example, is not a good experience because there's a gap in between songs. Playing movies is really good, no complaints here.
With plex I am able to watch any of my movies anywhere I am at regardless of what devices I have available to me. I would highly recommend going for the lifetime Plex pass option for any potential new subscribers. It gets rid of the monthly fee so many other users have complained about
This app generally works great. I am giving five stars because it really is a great app. But... it's not perfect. It cannot display my media library w photo and video together, and most annoying is that offline viewing is hit or miss. Not reliable for the kids to load up movies for a trip, for example. This is core functionality and should come before bells and whistles. Update: Reducing the rating to three stars because the offline viewing is completely broken. The size of the external SD card is not reported correctly.
Update: purchased the pass, and was happy until we had a internet outage that lasted for over 48 hours. PLEX failed to play my media files from my NAS or local PC. The only app that worked was PlayOn. BTW , used Roku to play my media files from a NAS. The PlayOn app works offline and Plex does not. Needs internet for it to do something very simple. At first glance it seemed complicated but after install worked right out of the box with minimum configuration. I have Synology diskstation and Plex is an (server) app available for my NAS. So all of my videos now reside on my NAS and I am able to stream on Roku, Google Chromecast and mobile/PC. Recently installed Plex server for windows 7 as I was using PlayOn to record some TV shows. Which by the way is equally good but Plex had an option to put my media in my own cloud for a lifetime license so I bought it. Now I have my own video collection just like my old school VHS tapes :-)
I originally complained that I couldn't play music by folders. I've since learned how to create implicit queues, which satisfy my needs nicely. Plex is now working perfectly for me on Roku and on my phone.
Been using Plex for years now. Nothing but great improvements over time. My family uses Plex for hours and hours every week. In this day of lousy tech and marketing hype Plex really delivers. This is truly one of the best services out there and they are getting better and better.
