The windows server is great. The web browsing works too but this is the Android app. And the Android app needs to fix the mobile sync issue where it switches from external storage to internal storage and therefore deletes your synced shows and movies. I'd rather sync from Netflix, at least that doesn't erases your shows while on vacation.
As of 5/24 app still crashes. App crashes shortly after launching. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Garbage. Time to cancel Plex pass. Still crashing as of 5/12. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Fix it! May 9 update causes app to crash almost immediately after launching. Used to be a 5 star app.
"Force direct stream" option is now missing, which, first of all broke my install because it was turned on before update, now I couldn't change it and thus was unable to have sound on a device that does not support AC-3. So I had to reinstall to reset that missing option, but I actually used it constantly, because even though my device auto starts to downscale anything higher 1080p, I was able to watch 4k30, 1620p60 always and sometimes 1800p60 perfectly smooth. Why break what works? That option shoud be accessible on the playback screen..
Changed rating back to 1 star after update did not resolve crashing issues on app launch - KitKat v4.4.4. My Android 7.0 Nougat device works fine, however, an older Asus Transformer TF101 tablet running Android KitKat v4.4.4 is unable to launch the app. This latest version and the previous version FORCE CLOSE upon launch, rendering the app useless. This app is fantastic and rating will go back to 5 stars when this issue is resolved. I'm unable to use the app on both of my devices and I could previously. This is the reason for my low rating. Version v220.127.116.115 launches and runs fine in KitKat v4.4.4 if this helps. Please resolve ASAP.
I dread using this clunky app. Please learn from Spotify. Why can't I go from sync status window to play? Why is it so hard to navigate to other episodes in the season (going back always starts from yop... meaning scrolling every time. By drfault even if tablet goes to sleep for a second I have to chose user and log back in... I pay and will keep paying gor my Plex pass as I love the concept and use it a lot, but mobile apps are so clunky, unfriendly. Netflix got their download streamlined and integrated well on first attempt...
480,518 files. 10,687 gigabytes. More than a dozen client devices running multiple operating system (Android, iOS, Ubuntu, Raspbian, Windows, OSX). One media server. Zero regrets.
