Was a great app but now it constantly becomes deactivated even after paying $5 for it. Everytime you hit the already paid button it offers to send an email to reactivate it. The response email then tells you to clear the cache/data for Play Store and Play Services and then sign back in and then reinstall Plex from the play store. Being an app developer I understand sometimes things go screwy but this is the 4th time in as many days this has happened. I could understand if this was happening on my rooted/modded phone but this is happening an a stock Galaxy S3. DEVS:Get on the ball!
Used to be decent but has gotten more and more bugs. Can barely play anything on my tablet. On my phone i have to Switch experimental player on/off depending on if i stream or play synced contents. And now i cant even open synced/local contents because i get a message saying it has lost connection to the server (i can browse server contents just fine, but not local/synced)
Still a great app I'm sure some people have issues with the app but I can tell you that for me it's been nothing but silky smooth. User integration is flawless and brings much needed control to who sees what. Player works great...crystal clear...very few crashes...looks amazing!
What a change two years can bring. This app went from excellent to practically useless. Whatever the new buffer/lag/slow-computer feature is makes this worthless. No matter how powerful my server or how many resources I allocate the app still pops up that infernal "server is too slow" notice. Previous releases would at least pause while buffering then resume automatically. This app just freezes and sits there. Really, really bad. My advice to other users? Avoid this version at all costs. Use the web console to stream your content. May 2013 - Just updated to the latest-n-greatest. This thing is AWESOME! Resume feature works EVERY time now, not just when it feels like it. I have a toggle for subtitles (magical!!), my library loads faster, as do my chosen titles. Very VERY good work on this last release guys. I'm gushing here, i know, but i can't get over how slick this new release is! Well done!
Best Streaming Solution! After trying various methods (including simply copying to the SD card), Plex is the easiest and best solution for streaming video from a computer to literally anything! On the fly conversion and added metadata creates a truly theatrical experience on any device! To all the bad reviews, you obviously don't know what you're doing or decided to write a bad review instead of solving the problem.
The best way to view your movies and tv shows. Plex has tidied my bluray, DVD and CD collection into a single dedicated PC hidden away out of sight. My original media is stored safely away in a box. Now I just use my phone to tell my Chromecast what I want to watch, and it appears on my TV screen in seconds. No more clutter of DVD boxes means a tidier living room. Bonus - I can access my library from anywhere with an Internet connection, or even with no Internet if I sync content to my phone/tablet in advance.
- Fix bug which could cause the selected section in the home screen to change unexpectedly.
- [TV layout] Don't crash while browsing Watch Later / Recommended content if no server is available.
- [TV layout] Show correct title and subtitle for TV show seasons on the 'Recently Added' section.
