About this app

It turns automatically the screen off when you put your phone into your pocket or onto a table. And turns the screen on when you take it out or up. No need to touch any button and you are ready to go. It's especially helpful if your lock key is hard to reach or the power button is broken.

The most popular screen on/off app. Reviewed by LifeHacker, MakeUseOf, TheNextWeb, Gizmodo and many others ...

KEY FEATURES
โ€ข Pocket Sensor: Turns the screen off if your phone is in your pocket.
โ€ข Table Sensor: Detects your phone is lying on a table and turn it off if not in use.
โ€ข Turn Screen On by Motion: If the screen is off and it's facing up the device can be woken up by moving it.
โ€ข Keep Screen On by Motion - Rise to Wake: It keeps the screen on while you are watching the screen. It relies on the small movements of your hand while holding the device.
โ€ข Smart Lock support: It's a workaround to make the Smart lock feature work fine on devices with Lollipop.
โ€ข Locale plug-in for: Tasker, Llama and others

UNLOCKED by IN-APP PURCHASE
โ€ข Better performance
โ€ข Widgets, Shortcuts
โ€ข Wider range for Rise to Wake Timeout
โ€ข Wider range for Table Sensor
โ€ข Suspend in Landscape mode
โ€ข Exclude Apps option

BATTERY USAGE

It should be not significant. I experienced about 6 per cent extra consumption on the test device. However it can be much higher by often using the Rise to Wake feature. Thus, keep your phone face down if you want to save energy.

UNINSTALL

Please, use the Uninstall button in the app. Due to Android restriction the app cannot be uninstalled on a normal way.

This app is currently the best available option for those of us who want such an app. I used to use Screeble Pro but that hasn't been supported for many years, so it doesn't work well with newer phones. The only thing I would really like in Gravity Screen is one element from Screeble, the option to choose angles within which the screen stays on eg between 20 and 70 degrees, this worked perfectly with Screeble. At the moment I can only set a sensitivity of 0-100 which should detect small movements which keeps the screen on, but even set at 100 I can easily hold the phone still enough for the app to decide I'm not using the phone and so it turns off the screen. Either it needs to be even more sensitive or, better still, the app should adopt the angle of use method. For everything else, the app is great.

Excellent app! It really works as great as it says! I would just suggest the timeout feature to be available when the device is locked as well (like unlocked/locked/both). It is not useful for me when the device is unlocked, because the system already has its screen timeout and I might leave the cellphone on the table to see it. However, when locked, lying down the device means it can now turn the screen off (after shaking it to see the clock, for example).

Like it, but it keeps vibrating my phone everytime I unlock it or go into apps that are excluded and not excluded. Wish I could turn that feature off but couldn't figure it out. It's not the OS settings because I scoured through everything and tested it. It's the app itself. I tried toggling the notification from it to 'off' but still it does not work. I'm almost at the point of uninstalling it because of how annoying it is.
