Not that PNC devs will listen (either because they can't or won't, not sure), but there are several issues with this app. I don't know if it was intentional, but every time I switch networks, I have to enter all of my information again. This includes password and security question. I appreciate security, but this is ridiculous. It should remember what networks have been authenticated on, at least. Second, biometric login would be nice. I know this is a little less secure than a good ol' strong password, but still. It would be rather convenient. Third, check deposit is shoddy at best. The app has a hard time auto-focusing on the check, even with the superb camera of the S8. Lastly, not really a major issue, but every once in a while, the app will display duplicates of every transaction from the last 10. Scared the hell out of me when I saw 20 different major transactions, lol. Oh, and a widget would be nice. Hopefully some consideration is taken from these reviews. Thanks for the hard work, as it stands.
Mobile Deposit Not Working on Galaxy S5 UPDATE: Received a phone call from tech support, and a new update to fix the Galaxy S5 mobile deposit is in the works. Great customer service! Fellow s5 users: downloading the regular pnc app will allow the mobile deposits, it was already fixed. Everything about the app and this bank is wonderful; however, since upgrading my phone from a Galaxy s3 to a Galaxy s5, the mobile deposit feature no longer works. The pictures take perfectly, but the app says they are not clear enough.
They think they're making the app safe by asking you to answer all these questions and you have to type your full password in all the time. But how safe it is to type your full password, if someone sees it, then they can access your account from anywhere. Why don't PNC catch up with the technology and offer finger print log ins or even the pin system? All the other major banking apps I use(4 others) use either the finger print security or the pin system so I don't have to type my full password and risk it all the time.
I love the new app especially because now it is check Imaging so I can deposit my check from the comfort of my own home in my underwear and let me just say this about inside my PNC in Plymouth Indiana. Lori is the bomb she is the best thing that ever happened at that branch. She treats me like I'm her own brother. And although I don't have a lot of money, Lori and the NEW Branch Manager treat me like I am a millionaire. I love my PNC.
The quick view feature is rendered useless pretty quickly when it needs to be re-enabled constantly. Same thing with the option to have it remember your login name. Crashes any time I touch the money bar too. This app could easily utilize the fingerprint scanner on many phones as a painless way to login but nope. No support for that either.
--Update: The slide bar finally works without crashing. I have changed my rating to 4 stars to reflect that--Everything on this app works great, but the slide bar for transferring from spend to reserve has not worked on my last two phones even after updates. Seeing how that is the first thing on the top when the app is opened, one would think that would be a priority. I will reevaluate my rating if they ever fix this issue, but it has been like this for over a year.
- Check Deposit Now Includes Automatic Image Capture
Now it’s even easier to deposit checks using the PNC Mobile Banking app. When using Mobile Deposit, position your check within the on-screen guides and allow the app to capture the check image automatically.
