The mage class is difficult to play. There is no health or mana regeneration. You must use consumables or rest. Since you can't rest mid deck you are forced to rely on food. The problem with that is that food is difficult to come by. This leads to glacially slow progression and tons of frustration. The game has tons of potential but is a bit unbalanced at the moment. I love the concept and the core elements are implemented well. I'm hoping there is a balance update coming.

I recommend only equipping one ability at the game start (e.g. Mage Armor or Fireball). If you find you are exhausting mana too early, save your abilities for difficult fights. The next season starts in a few days. We will have more class talents + balance changes that should make the game more accessible. I hope you give it another try then.

I really like the party system especially for playing with friends. it's a great way to play a game cooperatively, and I've been playing with RL friends for extra enjoyment. I find it funny that people left low reviews about solo magician being very difficult, because that is literally the point of the mage class. Game states it is a class that is weak alone but strong in parties In fact, mages are arguably the most important class in a party. but yes they're the weakest in solo play.

I really wanted to like this game, but after almost a couple weeks I'm pretty disappointed. Progress is way too slow, for a myriad of reasons I can't express here due to the character limit. My skills as a mage use too much mana and I often run out before I finish a deck. The skill system as a whole feels very lackluster and could really do with a rework. Overall I can tell this game is solidly made and has potential, but the current experience is lacking.

If you are finding the decks difficult, I suggest partying up with a group of friends. This allows you to progress much, much faster as party member step counts contribute to deck completion. Additionally, if you are finding you are running out of mana too early, try only having one spell equipped to save on mana costs.
