Ratings and reviews

Bought this game on a whim after rediscovering the dev's previous works from the 00's. Remember being enthralled by them, thought I'd enjoy this too. Glad I did, was a good experience. Plays more as an interactive story than a game, per se. Some combat, but nothing particularly deep or difficult. Enjoyed the plot, and found that it touched on some interesting themes I've found myself thinking about quite often. Cons: Controls are a little iffy, esp camera. Options had issues saving. Bit short.

Has awesome background music and storyline. Have played for about 3 hours and been engrossed. This game manages a sufficient 3D environment on a mobile device. The only negative is that the onscreen controls are quite difficult to keep your character going in the direction intended, with the direction rapidly changing. I dropped the turn speed to try to make it manageable and it is still a problem. Even with the control issues, this game is one of the best available on the app store.

This is a work of art. Between the interesting concepts, world quality, and beautiful score, I'm really enjoying this title. The environment breaths and begs to be explored. Tons of camera and visual treatment options for tweaking, and controls are reasonably configurable as well. If you're a photography fan, this game is a lovely experience. So much to see wandering around; glad I stumbled across Vandgels in my browsing. I hope the developer has great success.
