Funds are not taken from your account when you make online payments, if someone cashes your check 2 months later, then you get hit with the amount. If you use your card and the transaction isn't fully cleared it shows "pending" and shows you your current balance and available balance - but no same consideration for checks written online. That's just stupid. No reason why the app can't keep track of the checks you've sent out using the same app and let you know what your actual available.

Thanks for sharing your concerns. We understand how this can be frustrating. Checks don’t clear until they’re cashed, so they won’t show as pending. We recommend keeping track of any outstanding checks to help avoid surprises.

So far the app and website have been great. However, looking at the alert notifications, they are a bit underwhelming. Just a lot of words in really small font so folks like me who are visually challenged have a hard time reading them. Seems like most banks offer alerts that give the details of transactions so you're not forced to login which somewhat defeats purpose of alerts. As of now, that's probably the one thing that seems like an area of enhancemen is needed. Just my opinion.

I previously rated the app 3 stars, and the bank 5. After the update of the app, purchases and transfers no longer lags. The purchase transaction was never a real issue, though. There's no fee for overdraft in the event it happens. Also I thought that I had to wait until the end of the month to receive my atm reimbursement. You do not. I feel good about NBKC, and if anyone have any issues, they really listen to customer feedback. I am not being paid to say this.
