DOES NOT LET ME GO ON ANY WEBSITES!!!! When I wanted to go on a website which was very very child friendly it did not let me go on that website, and once when I had a history test I had to look up about the Greek gods on Wikipedia. The teacher let us study 20 minutes before the test started, I was the only one in the class who had this crap, I mean, it is good for children like me, I don't mind having Qustodio, but what I don't like is that I got a fail for my history test.
This is a wonderful app! It allows me to lock the device during times my teen should not be playing on her tablet (during school, family time, midnight) and I can block inappropriate websites. It also allows me to monitor how much time she is on certain apps. I can show her exactly how much time she is spending watching movies compared to other things. I can also conduct "Shut Down" on the device when she is grounded. This way there is no sneaking and playing with it while I am not watching. Parents need to control what their kids are viewing. Call me paranoid, overprotective, helicopter mom, or controlling all you want. It is better than being called "Mother of the Deceased" after some pervert contacts her on social media.
As the kid Everytime I accidentally open up an app I'm not allowed to use, Qustodio pops up, which I can understand and appreciate. But when I try to close the app it won't let me, and when I open another unblocked app, it pops up again and won't let me use my phone for about a good 4 minutes because Qustodio keeps opening and having a "seizure". All in all, it would be great and I wouldn't mind it if it weren't for that one problem.
Takes over everything! This app doesn't allow children to do anything they please. All text messages are read by their parents. The app also blocks everything. I tried to read the news on my son's phone and it was constantly blocking the websites. Terrible app. Don't get it.
-THIS IS FROM A CHILD"S PERSPECTIVE I AM NOT BIASED OR ANYTHING -blocks part of a website half the time and allows you on it the other half of the time (inconvenient for working) -blocks parts of a website that is allowed (ex:page 1 of a website is allowed but page 2+3 isnt;hard to read things for work if it has multiple sections) -on phones when you get kicked off an app and you try to go on another app you are allowed on, it kicks you off because the program thinks you are trying to go on the previous app -slows down the device a lot, sometimes make it take over 5 minutes to load even just a search engine (like google homepage;) -I would like it to actually provide more information about things. Currently I can see my overall time I have but only on my computer, I cant see what websites are not allowed or how long I can spend on certain programs -completely annoying considering that the thing is constantly flashing -also annoying that it has a ton of glitches(not going to mention it, it's my last resort before I cross the border to become a lonely and sad kid -allows kid to be mocked by every single other kid, which is a lot worse than a sneaky kid
Great App Protects my children, but also protects me from whatever my friends try to access on the net while using my tablet, phone or laptop. My Samsung phone and tablet, using Android, are synced together so that when I place a restriction on one it also applys to the other automatically. You can monitor usage remotely. The online report is incredibly detailed and you can block an accessed domain with the click of the button (or screen touch). EVERYTHING your kid does (or friend) is on the report. You can block contacts, telephone numbers, email addresses...it isn't that other apps don't do that, its just the ease of use, the detail of the reports and the versatility of the app that sets it apart. I think some of the negative reports are from people who have not learned to use that app to its full potential, even though it is easy to figure out. My only concern is that it appears some sites are accessed for a split second before the block takes hold. If a person tries to access an illegal site, their attempt may leave a footprint. Not sure if this is so. In any event, compared to others apps of its type, this is the best I have used. It protects my family and me.
