Great design, function needs work Love the design, long time qz reader, was waiting for it to come to android. However, sometimes when I start the app it's not at the bottom of the "conversation", but at the middle or even at the beginning, and after a week or two of news it takes a while to scroll down to the bottom. Had to reinstall to start from scratch. Any way to make a button to clear all or go straight to the bottom?
Innovative but linear. Absolutely love that there is finally a quartz app for android. The text message format is great in the way it gives the main line of each news for a 2min read. Would be good to be able to browse the articles in a traditional way though, with bold font title/image list format for a quicker browse and pick. No one likes to scroll back up through thousands of messages to find a specific one.
Innovative! Liked the concept very much but maybe you can implement it in categories of news so users choose to see what they want. Also the animations take a long time making the time i took to read the news longer than i would if i am using other news aggregator apps. Sometimes each chat bubble is so long but they appear consecutively in a short time making reading slightly difficult as well.
Different Sometimes when you bring forth something different, it can either go sour or work like a charm. I'm solidly impressed by the different approach this app takes in delivering news. It's not entirely perfect because it mostly sites mainstream media sources and it all seems a bit too cherry picked. Overall, solid app, average content.
Good idea but.. Translating random words from the headline into emojis and giving me that as a response option doesn't really feel conversational. Neither does the eternal "what else?". If you really want to know me as a user, give me a chance to respond at least positively or negatively. That might nudge you into the personalised direction you're looking for.
Good start. Excellent idea! Now, does the app learn what I am interested in? Does it learn? I want to be able ask for a specific news item (ie breaking news or an event I just heard about from weeks ago). Great take on Google's conversational AI to get news but need more obvious links to sources to get more information than is stated in the chat.
We're excited to introduce Quartz's app for Android!
